BC was waiting to see if Hobbs was stupid enough to pay for Addazio’s buyout.
There is no buyout. BC AD is relatively new and young. He extended Addazio last year, but eliminated the buyout. Was basically win this year or done. He’s done.

Just like at Cuse 15 years ago. They fired the coach and we collected Rice Greene and Lee. I will take some of their guys off the rebound.

Their AD is from the B10...worked at MSU and OSU so maybe some connection from a B10 school for a possible coach.
Hadley would be an ideal fit. Good coordinator who comes from the recruiting footprint he’d most want to live off of. Would set up some epic Rutgers-BC recruiting battles.

BC fans will regret this. It’s simply a 6-8 win school, exactly what they’ve been getting. Their initial hot board consists of guys they won’t get and guys that won’t excite anyone. Watch Brown get hired with Ant Camp as DC and eventual HC in waiting

I disagree that kids in the Catholic HS are encouraged/pushed to attend Catholic colleges. I mean there’s only 2 of them (ND and BC). The fact is that if you’re a Catholic boy growing up in the NE you dream of playing at ND and BC. It’s just the way it is.
Are you Catholic? I didn't dream of playing at BC or Notre Lame.

Weren't their fans unhappy with Tom OBrien who won a ton there and eventually he left on his own to NC State IIRC. They got rid of Jagodzinski for flirting with other jobs and he won quite a bit too in his short time there. Those guys won more than Addazio and they still were unhappy with them IIRC.

Peddie 4* linebacker Korey Smith should be a priority. He committed to the Dazzler in March. Todderick mentioned a DT kid from Cinnaminson, Cam Horsley. Two Mass 4* OL commits but they're local there so would be a much heavier lift.

I can’t believe the posters that were on here earlier in the week that were excited about trying to get him to RU. They actually believed he was better than GS. Clueless. If we hired him I don’t even want to think about where we were headed. Zero excitement.

what do you mean he has a lifetime .500 record..oh wait never mind..

GS is/was the only coach to excite the masses.

Hafley was Greg’s best recruiter at RU, along with Frank Cignetti.

Do not want to see Hafley as HC at BC. He will eat Greg’s lunch in recruiting.

Yeah, my guess is Hafley. Which is not good for us.
I think the days if BC taking their pick of Jersey kids is over. Father won't allow margin students in so the days if competing big time are over. NJ is B1G country and our HS's know it.

Hafley will wait for a big B1G job like PSU (if Franklin was ever to leave) or a Maryland. He's always been around likes of GS and Ryan Day type guys. States schools who want to win. He's not going to a academic bottom feeder program.

He's also considered an up and coming coaching talent, so the question would be:
Does Hafley think BC would help his career or be better off at Ohio St as a co-DC or an DC at another P-5 program.
Maybe a G-5 HC position would move his career upwards faster.
.
BC is a program that's not a final destination , but one on the way to a top college program and or NFL if you succeed there.
Fail and your career goes on hold.

Article says they're going to try and swing for Fickell and if not him then Candle, App State's Drinkwitz, Hafley, Elko, Clark Lea, Skip Holtz, Cincy DC Marcus Freeman, OSU LB coach Al Washington and NFL coach Shane Waldron are others on the list

Always hated how many of the players from the north Jersey parochial schools went to BC.
I'm sure there was pressure from teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators.I had that and wasn't a D1 athlete. Kids at parochial k-8 are encouraged/pushed/shamed into continuing
at Catholic High schools and kids at parochial high schools have the same when choosing college.
With the north Jersey parochial high schools having such strong football programs (yeah, tell me they don't recruit, haha) too much NJ talent gets pushed toward N.D. and BC

Always thought RU should have a better teaching program for that very reason.

Addazio is truly a ND lover and BC fans resented that--hell he would wear green when BC played them in other sports--this was confirmed

Forgive my ignorance but is Daz an offensive or defensive coach? Would he fit with us on GS's staff and help recruiting?

Also I would love to see Nunzio rewarded for the way he handles the whole situation. How about the title of Assistant Head Coach?
Want to see him and his brother both on the staff.

Would he fit into that role with us? He obviously has good recruiting ties in the NE.
I don’t think Addazio was a good OC for Florida IIRC. He had Tebow one year and they might have done okay offensively but the next year I don’t think they did so well offensively and that was Urban’s final year at Florida and it wasn’t a good one by their standards.

maybe it was Greg who closed the deal when Jeff brought the recruits in.

My daughter is a BU grad and the joke in Boston is that BC is the school for the kids who can't get into BU.
