From Football Scoop
Vic Hall served as the safety coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights during the 2025 season.
In December 2025, he left the program to join Virginia Tech as their nickels coach.

Bobby Hauck is expected to resign as Montana's head coach, and the Grizzlies will promote wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy to replace him, sources confirmed to FootballScoop on Wednesday. The news was first reported by Skyline Sports in Montana.
Hauck went 151-43 in two stints with the Griz, his alma mater, sandwiched around a 5-year run at UNLV. He took Montana to the FCS semifinals in 2025, falling to eventual champ Montana State in the biggest sporting event in the history of Montana. He took the Grizzlies to four FCS national title games, most recently in 2023. He won at least a share the Big Sky Conference title in all seven seasons during his first 7-year run from 2003-09, including three trips to the FCS title game and four semifinal appearances. He exits as the winningest coach in Big Sky history.

Delaware: The Blue Hens have announced a number of moves that include Manny Rojas (assistant HC / DC / safeties), Rocco DiMeco (co-DC / STC / LBs), Xavier Dye (RBs / recruiting coordinator), Garrett Smith (QBs), Tyler Ferguson (TEs), Noah Plack (senior defensive analyst) and Theo Brown (senior special teams analyst).

Rather than start a new thread for this, I'll post it here and say it sounds like both the AD & HC are trying to find a way to excuse themselves for the way the program was because of their decisions.
>On one side of the table, you had an AD who knew his candidate wasn't ready for that magnitude of a job, yet hired him anyway out of professional insecurity. On the other side of the table, you had a coach who didn't really want to take the job, but took it anyway out of a sense of obligation to other people. <

"yet hired him anyway out of professional insecurity." Hindsight is 20/20.
Always go with your gut feel and suffer the consequences. For that matter, he could have had a one on one with Scott Frost after the three person interview and leveled with him as to his concerns, and that may have opened Frost up to his own reservations. One time in my career I did not go with my gut, and it did not end well at that stop.

Usally when you're unsure you are a good fit, you prove to be a bad fit after taking the job.
I'd say the confidence isn't there and it shows in job performance
Just like Frost's tenure as the Cornhusker HC had him starting behind in confidence and never overcoming that shortcoming..
As for Moos he did hire Hoiberg as the Men's ABasketball HC, but Fred did look like a bust at first and besides Scott was a reason Moos retired 18 months before his contract was up and it seems like Nebraska made a deal to bet him gone
(from a google search)>
Bill Moos retired as Nebraska's athletic director on June 30, 2021, with
18 months remaining on his contract, which ran through 2022. Despite the early departure, Nebraska negotiated a settlement paying him roughly $3million, including full remaining salary and1770751815393.gif$1million of his $1.25 million deferred compensation1770751815393.gif
( ignore below, can't seem to delete the junk that came with copying and pasting google search result)

Why would a guy that just took an OC role at UCLA come back to Indiana to be QB coach? Did something happen at UCLA. I don’t follow most of the moves around college except ours.,
He was let go ( the mutual agreeing to leave reason) after 4 games in which UCLA;s offense wasn't doing very well
Jerry Neuheisel replaced him running the game day offense as interim HC Tim Skipper tried to turn the Bruins season around

Jerry was briefly the talk of CFB after UCLA upset Penn St and dominated Mich St the week after, but then they tailed off to more or less what they were before Foster got let go. Now reunited with Chip Kelly at NW.

Illinois hires veteran FCS and D-II head coach Tyrone Wheatley
Less than a week ago, Tyrone Wheatley ended his tenure as the head coach at Wayne State (D-II - MI) following a three season run.
In three seasons leading the Detroit-based program, Wheatley went 3-8, then 2-9, and this past fall finished 0-11.

Sources tell FootballScoop Bill O'Brien is set to fill an opening on his staff with veteran defensive line coach Ben Albert, who brings coordinator experience in his return to Chestnut Hill. ESPN is reporting the same.

Previous stops for Albert include Temple, where he coached the outside linebackers, as well as Rutgers, Richmond and Delaware. He also spent one season in the NFL as the assistant defensive line coach for the Jaguars from 2010-11.

I would have thought Pete would have been a cinch to land a college DC job .
Guess pro money topped what he could get with the college DC offers he received, if any.

Looks like NIU moving to the Mountain West didn't beat the lure of the pros for Hammocxk

>Northern Illinois has now announced Hammock's resignation and the appointment of Rob Harley as interim head coach. A statement provided by Hammock reads:
"Representing the Cardinal and Black of Northern Illinois University as a player, alumnus, assistant coach, and head coach has been the honor of my life," Hammock said. "To Sean Frazier, my mentor, thank you for the incredible opportunity to lead, guide, and mentor the young men in this program over the past seven years. I hope I have left a lasting impact on our players the way Coach Novak left one on me.<

It was a short and insuccessful stint at UCLA under Foster. Was it because of Foster or was he not ready yet? Who knows but can’t hurt to come back to the colleagues you’ve coached with for many years and regroup on a successful staff.

Ben Albert was DL coach at Rutgers in 2001.

He is not related to Fat Albert.

Coach Prime reportedly losing coordinator to the NFL, moves quick to fill opening
Multiple reports, starting with ESPN's Adam Schefter, share this afternoon that Sean Payton and the Broncos are hiring Colorado defensive coordinator Robert Livingston as their defensive pass game coordinator.
ESPN shares that Chris Marve, who had previously served as defensive coordinator at Virginia Tech and joined the program earlier this off season as linebackers coach, is being promoted to fill the opening.

Rutgers’ Elevates Luke Carrezola to DT’s Coach, Charlie Noonan Moved to Unknown Role - Yahoo Sport
Carrezola has experience working with the new Rutgers defensive line coach, as Dottin-Carter was the defensive line coach during some of Carrezola’s years playing at UConn. They also worked together when Carrezola was a graduate assistant at UConn from 2019 to 2021. Carrezola was elevated to a defensive analyst role for the 2022 season before moving on to be the defensive line coach at New Haven in 2023. After just one season, Carrezola joined the Rutgers coaching staff.

As for Charlie, this gives a hint at where I think he'll wind up
Noonan was assistant linebackers coach at Rutgers from 2022 to 2024 and was the full-time linebackers coach at Lehigh in 2019.

I wondered why he stepped down then jumped to Penn State.

When he took the Penn State job in my opinion it was an underhanded move, now I see he did what he had to do after seeing Utah didn't really want him more than they wanted the HC in waiting .
So he said see ya , you got him now.
This type of treatment is a good reason to leave and not look back :
> Instead, Utah countered on Dec. 6 with what was effectively a demotion. Whittingham's salary would grow from $7.4 million to $8 million, but he would effectively become a HCINO: head coach in name only. Morgan Scalley "would have 'full and final' oversight in decision-making in areas of football recruiting/player personnel staffing and the general manager position and have “complete decision-making authority” over any football recruiting, roster and staffing matters impacting the program beyond 2026," according to documents obtained by Yahoo. Utah's defensive coordinator had been appointed head coach-in-waiting two seasons prior, and such arrangements typically come with an unwritten expiration date. <

my bad, thanks for the correct, Kyle did take over the Wolverines, ISU lost Campbell to the Nits

Seeing how Utah treated Whittingham was revaluation to me and changed my thinking about his leaving the Utes.
Campbell leaving the Cyclones caught me off guard, but I feel it was a now or never type of decision he made.

Brown (FCS - RI): Andrew DiRienzo has accepted the receivers job at Brown after three seasons coach the tight ends and coordinating the special teams at Fordham (FCS - NY) along with prior stops at Rutgers and Pace (D-II - NY).

google search found:
DiRienzo spent five seasons at Rutgers from 2018-2022. He started off in player development during the 2018 season, before shifting to a graduate assistant from 2019-2021 where he worked directly with the team's receivers.

For the 2022 season, he served as an offensive quality control assistant where he worked directly with the receivers and developed weekly scouting reports on opponent's tendencies, oversaw the creation and management of the playbook, and assisted the receiver's coach with specific drills and implementing wide receiver installations.
