From Football Scoop

San Diego State:
Former Rutgers assistant Colin Ferrell, who coached with SDSU head coach Sean Lewis at Kent State, is expected to join the staff as Edges coach and former UCLA assistant Scott White is joining the staff as linebackers coach, per ESPN.

Michigan: With Kyle Whittingham as the expected hire for the Wolverines, multiple outlets share Utah offensive coordinator Jason Beck is expected to be Whit's target as the Wolverines offensive coordinator.
(When he resigned and said he didn't plan to retire and would continue coaching I felt he was looking at Michigan
as wher he wanted to go. Just a guess, but looks like a good one_

The coaching search at Ohio has stayed in-house to find their next head coach yet again.Just days after interim head coach and defensive coordinator John Hauser led the Bobcats to a win over Dan Mullen and UNLV in the Frisco Bowl, Ohio has promoted Hauser to the head coaching role.

UConn: Syracuse quarterbacks coach Nunzio Campanile is set to become the new offensive coordinator at UConn, per ESPN.
(Nunzio is on the way top becoming a HC ( Being the Rutgers interim HC in 2019 then being one at Syracuse in 2023 looks better on a resume than being a coordinate with no HC experience)

No mention that his school is a filthy, dysfunctional cesspool.

Kyle went back to the Utes in 2025 so he could wash off the stench of the 5-7 record in 2024 he felt gave him.
The last time he had losing season at Utah was in 2013.
Now that he proved himself still a winner, Kyle is moving on to Michigan to prove himself again.
I tended to put him down for leaving Utah and only thinking about yje glory that goes with a job like Michigan,
but after thinking about it, I feel the move was two-fold, 1) to challenge himself at a job that the risks are as high as the rewards and 2) making sure his assistant ( HC in waiting) took over for him instead of wondering if he ever would and leave.
So Kyle, in my opinion, was thinking about his assistant getting what was promised while he moved to a new challenge

He's obviously a solid coach, but Michigan fans are fairly expressing their doubts that he is elite and will get them back to winning the B1G. Time will tell.

He was forced out, he didn’t Utah leave voluntarily. He said as much. Timing is everything and now a great opportunity has fallen in his lap and we’ll see how he does.

He played tough at Oregon from FCS Idaho…24-14 and was close into the 4th. Respectable earlier this year against Michigan as well. 70+ new players this year at NM, most in the FBS.
I love this guy. Lobos just ran back a kickoff and go for two point conversion. A coach who returns kicks and goes for two points.

This article seems to agree with you and I take it, if the article's implication is right, that Utah was afraid of losing head-coach-in-waiting Morgan Scalley, so made him feel it was time to move on.
But, then, Whittingham didn’t want to be “that guy.” He didn’t come right out and say that he was irritated by the nudges. He didn’t have to. He didn’t want to spoil or sully in any way his “good run” at Utah.

But I would like yo know what he said that makes it look like he admitted he was forced to leave.
Was it him saying he didn't want to overstay his welcome??
note couldn't delete shifty's name that somehow invaded my reply to rutgersguy

“I think the brilliance of Kyle Whittingham is there’s too many guys that have a job and they’re looking out for their next one. Kyle’s never done that,” said former BYU offensive coordinator Norm Chow, who was Utah’s OC for the program’s first year in the Pac-12 in 2011. “That’s the magic of Kyle.”

Who are those some people that thought he was over staying his welcome...the admin? So he left as gracefully as he could even if he probably didn't want to go.

"Never been prouder. . . ." Never really paid attention to this guy, but he and that other d-nozzle PatMcAfee cannot go away any faster. Hate seeing this guy stuff his ugly face with pizza.
Portnoy is such an ***. I do think it is a great hire for Michigan but if anyone doesn’t believe that offer wasn’t on the table when he stepped down from his previous gig…and his pizza choices are horrible. While I do like the bottom of the pie to have some char- I do want to do a proper NY fold. And I have no problem if some of the cheese causes the front of the slice to droop down a bit. And New Haven is not the pizza capital of tge world. And now so annoying to see anyone talking about pizza and the looking under the slice, no flop and hearing the crunch…just saying haha

That was a scorched crust post. You have watched more DP than I have. Can't stand guys like him and McAfee. I eat my pizza in piece. ✌️

He was hired Colorado St weeks ago. The OC has also gone to TCU.

The Toledo coach Jason Candle is at UConn now.
I like that hire hire and surprised that Candle took it.
Guess UConn is a step up from from Toledo and being in the MAC
But like Corporal Klinger would wonder why would he want to leave Toledo , I can't see why he would think the UConn job was better than where he was .

Being a program where the 177-88 coach is "overstaying his welcome" is a first world problem.
