Oh wow that’s a surprise. I thought there could be a reunion with Pry if JF took a job any place besides VT, for obvious reasons. I guess not.

There was a couple year gap for Arnettt but Pry was just fired which makes it unusual. Good on them though for not letting ego or pride get in the way.

Knowles to Rutgers?
That would take a lot of "resources." Knowles has a three-year deal that will average $3.1 million per season, sources told ESPN. Plus, it is not clear if he has been retained or not.
I suppose if he gets canned, he will make $3.1M for each of the next 2 years regardless of what he is paid by his next employer.

Highest paid assistant in college last year. I think Blake Baker is getting similar from LSU this year and that’s why he turned down Tulane.

Jimmy Rogers contract at ISU. Seeing more of these incentives based on wins. Reasonable base and incentives for wins to take it higher. I would even use larger numbers but not too bad a structure for a change.

From the article:

Rogers will receive a base pay of $3 million. The term of the contract is six years, keeping Rogers in Ames until Jan. 31, 2032.

In contrast, Campbell signed a contract extension at Iowa State in August worth $5 million per year until 2032.

Rogers also has the chance to receive annual incentives based on regular season performance: If the Cyclones win seven games, he'll receive $250,000. With each additional regular season game won, Rogers will receive another $250,000.

The head coach also stands to earn $100,000 if the team appears in the Big 12 Conference championship game, $250,000 if the team finishes in first place in the conference and $250,000 if the team wins the Big 12 Championship game. If the team achieves both the latter accomplishments, Rogers will receive the combined $500,000.

Iowa State also promised Rogers several incentives based on post-season bowl game participation, College Football Playoff Championship appearances and coaching awards.

Iowa State will pay Washington State University $4 million after Rogers broke his contract there.

Putting the band back together. Franklin is going to be a menace in the ACC.
Getting the defensive band back together is probably a good idea. Offensive hmmm not as sure lol. His track record with OC choices/offense is spotty/mixed. Too many average/below average years considering it was PSU. They produced good TEs and RBs, less so WRs and especially QBs.

Yea but their expertise is recruiting. If they can continue to recruit at the level they did at PSU. Having average production in a watered down ACC will give them an ez pass to the championships.

Southern Mississippi might be looking at Anderson and Freeze wants to be a HC again

<Right now, the interim is Blake Anderson. He grew his coaching profile as Southern Miss's high-flying offensive coordinator nearly 15 years ago under Larry Fedora and eventually became head coach at both Arkansas State and Utah State.
Sources close to Freeze have shared in recent weeks that the veteran coach is itching to return to coaching sooner than later to show that whatever happened to doom his Auburn tenure isn't going to define him as a collegiate coach. Freeze had sough to be involved in the Memphis search as well, sources told FootballScoop last week.>

I’ve seen this name mentioned a few times as an up and comer and it will be interesting to see how he does as he steps up levels. I’m glad CC’s ascent has opened up the genie’s bottle to give guys like this an opportunity to see how they will do.
