Getting ugly. I cannot see Rutgers fans showing up to boo the departure of a of coordinator.

Kiffin is gutting Old Miss, but even though the new HC worked with the assistants Kiffin is targeting there is no reason to stay because they couldn't be sure if Golding would be successful and or let them do their job like Kiffin did.
I don't know if Golding assured everyone no staff changes would be made, but if he didn't leaving might be the best way to be assured of having a job.

That’s a tall ask from him, but he’s making it crystal clear that he is ready to start fresh with the Tigers immediately since he won’t be allowed to coach in the CFP for Ole Miss. <
What a great example to young people! Anyone that buries very young people , often from very modest or compromised backrounds, for taking large financial offers to transfer should be ashamed. Look at their “role models”. More hilariously is that ESPN has been running one of those 30 For 30 specials about the life of Lane Kiffin. The show is very sympathetic toward him. Outlining his history to Ole Miss HC. Portraying Kiffin as a matured, grown up who now cites God and his “plan” and how he has found a home in Oxford , Miss. it seems “God’s Plan” has a large follow the money component. All the players who committed to him and who toiled greatly are now hung out to dry, even as a playoff team. Absurd.

Narrative that CAA and Jimmy Sexton orchestrated many of these things like making Franklin look good on CGD or polishing Kiffin’s image (big joke about the hot yoga rehab lol) or Saban talking up LK and saying he should be allowed to coach Ole Miss even though he fired LK as OC right before the Alabama champ game because he was too distracted taking the FAU job. All CAA clients.

If Fickell doesn’t work out, I can see Wisconsin taking a shot. His run based offense fits their typical mold vs Sean Lewis (also a Wisc alum) at SDSU, although he kind of adjusted his offense this year as well.Those are rookie numbers, he is ripe for the picking if his success continues.
If Fickell does not turn it around, he may go down in college coach history as one of the biggest busts ever. Granted, Paul Chryst was not recruiting well, but under Fickell, the program has cratered. There were some fans who wanted Jim Leonhard to stay on from interim HC to full time HC. He moved to the NFL, and he is Assistant head coach for the Broncos.
Plus he played for them and started out his coaching career as a Badger GA and has coached in the Wisconsin recruiting territory .

Robinson would be a good get for recruiting, but some fans will say we don't want a Fran Brown/Cuse cast-off:
There is no chance of this happening but GS should call Stoops , offer him as much as he could pay now for a DC and give him complete control of the defense.
Said the same thing about Brent Pry, former PSU DC and HC of Va Tech.
There are some quality defensive coaches out there. If Greg is going to continue with co-DCs (hope he does not), if Elijah Robinson is let go by Fran Brown at Syracuse at DC, he would be fantastic for recruiting--Camden who recruits South Jersey and would likely be thrilled to be closer to home. Experience at Texas A&M too.
Good ideas in theory but you do know credible, established candidates would rather be erroneously caught in an ICE raid and sent to El Salvador than work under GS.
As I noted, he was dinged about his recruiting. IMO, this is the type of thing the AD could have corrected by putting a person on the football staff to provide "more resources" to help with recruiting. Also, from linked article:

Wisconsin also fell 52-21 to Ohio State on Sept. 24, one of its worst losses in recent memory, and lost 17-14 at home against Washington State on Sept. 10 as a heavy favorite."
Hindsight is 20/20, but both Illinois and Washington State had a strong seasons, and Ohio State blowout seems to be a thin reed to fire someone for. No doubt the emotions of losing to Bielema, who was (and probably still is) reviled at Wisconsin was a big component, just like Cal's firing of Wilcox last weekend for losing to Stanford.
"Chryst, 56, who was born in Madison, finishes 67-26 in seven-plus seasons at Wisconsin, his alma mater. He won 10 games or more in four of his first five seasons with the Badgers, winning a Cotton Bowl, an Orange Bowl and three Big Ten West Division titles."
Braelon Allen tweeted out in support of Chryst. He's been a bust in the NFL so far.
Agree with the Iowa blog about their decision:
"As his alma mater and former employer continues to struggle under Chryst’s predecessor, Luke Fickell, the more its look as if Wisconsin over-reacted by relieving Chryst of his duties after just five games in the 2022 season."
Badgers were fickle for Fickell and now they are in a pickle.

Checking his resume , I feel he might have had a pretty good OC career, but nothing that points to being one of the best .

I’ve been seeing this on Twitter and some media haven’t dismissed it out hand. Sitake is a name that would totally surprise me for PSU. Wouldn’t have thought of him if you gave me 10 guesses lol. Maybe it’ll just be a leverage play, we’ll see.
