And a lot of times that can be a good thing…the names the typical fans don’t know can be very good…kinda feel like the hot or known names of the the year flop more often than not lately

1/ Under basic contract law, Lane Kiffin controls whether he keeps coaching unless Ole Miss triggers a without-cause termination and pays the liquidated damages/buyout required in his agreement.
2/ “For-cause” termination is extremely narrow in coaching contracts. Absent that, Ole Miss must pay the buyout if it wants him out now. They can’t simply remove him without fulfilling that obligation.
3/ Because Ole Miss hasn’t terminated the contract, the agreement remains fully enforceable. Kiffin is entitled to continue performing his duties and receiving compensation and benefits.
4/ He also has no legal duty to accelerate a decision about his future or resign early. A party performing under an active contract is not required to negotiate an exit or take steps to help the other side avoid its own termination costs.
5/ Once the season ends—and assuming no extension or amendment—Kiffin is free to take a job with LSU or anyone else, subject only to notice clauses or post-employment covenants.
6/ Bottom line: Kiffin can legally maintain the status quo as long as the contract remains in force. Ole Miss can change that only by paying the buyout.

Penn St, UCLA (both tied to Chesney) still on tap, MSU hasn't said much about Smith yet either.

Let's play musical coaches. Do it again in say 3-4 years.
Bad year for musical coaches. Not enough players, and some teams will be left to play with themselves --or hire very bad candidates to fill their openings. Other than the amount of the buyout, its a huge reason why firing at RU is pretty much out of the question.

Will anyone take a chance on Brian Kelly?

He is a dick, but the system and the ADs reap what they sow.

"If the system has one neck, you know I would gladly break it."- lyric from Dance of the Dead

Hard to change the calendar all that much because of the semester system.

I also think there’s a difference between Kiffin and Morris/Sumrall. He creates the circus and creates the hoopla with all his social media posting and actions and the like, even his family somewhat. I heard in a pod it’s like a Bravo reality show or Kardashians of CFB lol. The other guys just quietly go about their business without too much hoopla or trying to attract a lot of attention on themselves. He seeks and creates the drama.

I had mentioned the Eagles GM was a roommate of Fisch at UF and he might help him find a GM if he got the UF job. Well I guess he’s helping his alma mater anyway regardless of Fisch. I guess we’ll see if his guy is any good.

Don’t know if they’ll look at Kelly but this is the only place I’ve seen his name tied with
