I had mentioned Kirby Moore recently here and was wondering if he got a HC job somewhere then Gleeson might get another shot at OC at Mizzou. He’s the qb coach there at the moment.

I'd keep an eye out for Colorado State to go into the FCS coaching ranks to find a replacement
Brent Brent Vigen of Montana State comes to mind
Rogers from SDS is at WSU now and they’ve shown some life these last couple weeks against Ole Miss and UVA…losing by 3 and 2 points on the road.

UCLA interim HC Tim Skipper (former CSU assistant) might be a candidate, but I feel he'll be made permanent if UCLA makes a bowl game this year.
Money problems make the program not as desired as we might think because the Bruins won't pay a high salary
or fund the program as much as a winning program needs to stay off the bottom.
When it comes to the best candidates, I feel UCLA is like RU with top candidates giving them a wide berth because they don't like what the program offers them .
If he fails, CSU won't be looking his way .
If he succeeds, like I said, Skipper probably will be the Bruins HC in 2026

Good point, Moore came on board in 2023 and ED went from 6-7 win seasons to 10-11 win seasons.

6-1 currently this year.

What do some of you guys think of Jim Mora Jr? I know he is older (soon to be 64), but he was a .500 HC in the NFL and won 37 games in 4 years at UCLA before 2 .500 type years which resulted in his firing. What he is doing at UConn with limited resources is pretty amazing , 9 wins last year and a real good start this year . They hammered BC at BC Sat. If the RU financial situation was much different, I think he would be a strong HC candidate.

Can't be any worse than what we have. I would imagine he will be getting offers, maybe not big offers, but at least G5 or perhaps Virginia Tech type of offer. Older is a state of mind- Curt Cignetti is about the same age.

weird speculation
Jon Gruden ?Florida
>Who the Fans Want <

here's always this type of click bait BS article when top programs are hiring
Another mentioning Gruden and Florida

Then a hog wild idea
>The opening at Arkansas has generated the most buzz for Gruden, with Brett Favre throwing his support behind the school hiring him. <

Obviously not a matter of money with A&M’s pockets but he went to Penn and is from the northeast. It would be just a matter of what he and his family prefer.

I’d mentioned Campbell as a sort of under the radar Elko type, but if they can get the original lol.

Many years ago now, I do recall someone here mentioning Elko as a desirable candidate.

I’ve mentioned him here a few times as someone to keep an eye on since he was WF DC. I think when he became ND DC is when I thought he’d be a more serious candidate though.

No flash just a thoughtful meat and potatoes kind of coach which is what A&M needed despite all their money. He may be meat and potatoes but he’s not meathead. I kind of think the same with PSU which is why I think Campbell might be good for them. I see him in a sort of similar mold but maybe a half step down.

I like Jon Gruden. Makes me laugh. I like watching him breakdown film. But I will never understand the fascination with him. the last 15 years he is mentioned for nearly every coach opening in college and pro. He is a .500 coach who did win a super bowl, but thats it. What makes him so desirable to fans that they throw his name out there for nearly every opening.

A .500 coach that won a Super Bowl with the team Tony Dungy built.

Some names that came up on some CFB media pods.

Jeff Brohm’s name coming out as a potential name for both PSU and Florida. It would be hard to pull him out of Louisville though. He’s beaten top 5 teams (4-4) at places you might not expect to do that.

Joe Brady, another name for PSU too. He was GA there some time ago. No idea if he has the inclination to come back to college. Historic year at LSU but don’t know how he’s done in the NFL.

Natives getting restless at MSU. Currently winless in the B10. Only on year 2 but talk about Jonathan Smith. He’s owed 30M+…still I find that hard to believe in year two and with that buyout. New AD from GT.

Edit: forgot the Bills owner is a PSU billionaire, no idea if that might have any impact on Brady to PSU

Dave Doeren is another one I’ve heard as potentially on the hot seat depending on how the rest of the season goes. Little surprised about that…he’s been a solid to good ho hum most of his time there with 3 rankings in 13 years as well. Might be another one of those, it’s just time deals. 🤷‍♂️

First time in awhile I’ve heard Kliff Kingsbury pop up with regards to college. I like what he did with qbs and thought the was an interesting name before he went to USC. Not sure how he’s done in the NFL as OC.

Reminds me of Lincoln Riley, great with qbs and offense but soft teams and bad defense. If he could figure out a way to fix that, he’d be a good name for somebody. Wonder if he even wants to come back to college.

Now that Indians burst UCLA's bubble and their their Interim Skipper might not be looked at as a permanent solution and with UCLA's supposedly money problems , I'm wondering if Jimbo Fisher might use the Bruins to return to the college HC ranks and willing to work at a discounted rate to coach at a P-4 program ?
