That’s comical. Everyone, including OSU, agreed to the rules before the season started. If in your opinion expecting Big Ten schools to stick to their word and the rules they all agreed to is sanctimonious, that says all that anyone needs to know about you. The end does not justify the means.
Here’s one for you. Through 5 weeks in Pac 12 play:
- Colorado is 4-0 (3-0 in conference bc they played an OOC game when another team cancelled on them). They missed two conference games bc USC and Az St had Covid issues (they haven’t had any).
- USC is 4-0 (4-0 in conference, only missed the Colo game which they had to back out on).
- Colo plays Utah, USC plays UCLA. If both win, USC wins Pac 12 South and goes to the championship... bc they cancelled their game against CU and there is no head to head tiebreaker. So then it falls to division record / wins and USC has one more bc of the Az St game (or else maybe bc of higher CFP ranking it’s not 100% clear to me).
- Meanwhile in the North, Washington is 3-1 and Oregon 3-2, playing this weekend, if Oregon wins a 4-2 team will play USC.
- Is it fair that Colorado is getting screwed by USC dodging their game cause of “rules”, or do you think in this screwed up season they should ditch the divisions and have Colo play USC (or maybe get put ahead of USC to play the Pac 12 N winner bc the Trojans were the one who had the Covid problem)? Sure they are playing based on the supposed “rules” up front (which as with ours had already been changed multiple times over), but I don’t think it’s right and think they should adjust the rules given the total chaos of this screwy football season.
Do you disagree?
PS unfortunately for Colorado in this case USC draws more television eyes and $$$ so I think they have much less chance of getting the “rules” changed once more (after they’ve already been changed numerous times) than OSU does
