Will be interesting though…say a dude like McCord who has been coached by real dudes comes in…then after a week of practice/workouts he realizes that he signed up for Satterfield.

It's the truth. At the end of the day wins are all that matter. Ask any coach who's been fired, ask any coach who has been retained since forever. They all won at a high rate. How they did it is their business.

I mean, sure, a top guy is ideal but come on, EVERY school wants a top guy and frankly we have sucked **** for 7 years so we should be lucky to get someone. But if we get a stopgap older guy, a younger guy, and Kaelin… we roll with that. Then next year if they all suck we try it again.. and again… until we hit on someone.
Fingers crossed though for a higher rated guy than the Baylor dude, but he’s better than what we got

You prob have good info, but that makes me think... any good qb wants to be in the BIG or SEC. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any good SEC schools looking for a qb.

For me, Howard. I know Leavitt’s factors include multiple years of eligibility but I want the higher ceiling right now. Even liked Shapen to be honest.
As someone said, more will hit the portal as well, I have a feeling some of the guys from the New Year’s Day teams will hit the portal on the last day or two.
Within the past 12 hours, we went from predictions to getting McCord and landing Leavitt to settling for Shapen or even back to developing our current QB room. Who the hell even knows what’s going on at this point. But based on recent Husker history, I’m just going to prepare to be disappointed until they do something—anything— to prove otherwise.
Shapen actually looked great in some of those videos. Was more physical than I had seen last year. Honestly I think he looked the best out of the three show. Leavitt was second - although his upright running style scared me like TMart. Howard didn’t look extremely athletic in his clips. Didn’t throw particularly well either.
How? Its mostly him running for five yards. Not saying he isnt good but based on those videos its howard or shapen.

I will be disappointed if Rhule and Satterfield settle for Blake Shapen. If he is brought in with another QB that would be one thing, but if they only bring him in, I think that shows they just want to take the easy route and don't really want to make a big jump in improving the team. Baylor won the 3 games in 2021 that Shapen played significant minutes. He was 6-6 in 2022 and 2-6 this past season. Huskers need to start winning. With Shapen I don't think we get a winner. Please jump in with both feet, spend the money and get a winning quarterback.

There is a reason that the starting QB at OSU and the Georgia 5 star backup QB are in the portal. It ain’t rings.
There is a reason Rhule made his comments about $1-2M. You don’t think EVERY starting QB in the country didn’t stop and think about Nebraska when they looked at their own NIL deal and then compared it to the number that Rhule just put out into the universe?
Facts
1. Rhule is playing chess right now. He’s the right guy for the job and we are damn lucky to have him. He’s not going to make every right move but he is making the right moves.
2. We will get a major QB upgrade as a result of Rhule “making the right moves” to get one.
3. We are a “big boy” in this NIL game
this level of cope is reminding me of every offseason with Frost.
