I am nervous because of the Cliff situation. Those who seem in la la land with the idea of Doucore on the court must be fair weather fans and haven’t watched the last 3 years. Might as well play 4 on 5
i was going to write the exact same 4 on 5 thing yesterday lol

sorry but he has not shown to be a Big Ten player. cut the losses now. don't put him on the court.

This just feels like a "come back down to earth" game. Perhaps its just the paranoid RU fan in me that can't handle all this positive press. College basketball is funny with the occasional stinker. Ohio State is a good team but beatable on the road.

People are betting based on the Cliff news. In this matchup it’s not that big a deal imo because we can play small ball and still match up with them

I thought the same thing about the Illinois game.

It would be a nice story for Doucoure to shine in his big chance. He may feel more comfortable being the biggest guy on the court with no true centers for OSU and have a big game on the boards. I'd like to see him really crash the offensive boards when he is in and try to contribute to the offense there

Id just like to see him not look like a deer in headlights

Yes, but there is significant value in Myles as a shot blocker and rebounder. If he gets in foul trouble our defense goes down a few notches.

Here is why this is really sad and funny... this is the exact same board and same posters who were ecstatic after our win against Illinois and our move to number 11 in the country... now Cliff gets injured and thankfully not badly and we are already deciding we will suffer our first loss to OSU tomorrow...Pathetic loser mentality... you think the team is not going to play with their hair on fire? ... Good teams respond to adversity and we are , according to what I have heard this season , we are a very good team with high expectations... True Rutgers fan base ...”whoah is me “... Pathetic attitude from years of beat downs.... You should be embarrassed for yourselves... Do you think this team and Coaches think they can’t win ? ...And if we are not as fortunate it’s not the end of the world... just a bump In the road...Cliff now is the reason we will lose do to his absence... there were many who said “ he’s not ready”..now he is the 2nd coming of JC... Shamefull...
While I appreciate that you're gung ho and all, fans aren't playing the game. We're just watching. Our mentality (loser or otherwise) is entirely irrelevant and meaningless to what happens on the court.

Also, if winning as a fan matters, then fans should probably bet against their hearts (predict a loss). That way, no matter what actually happens on the court, the fan always wins.

Its Doucoure's time to shine. Now or never. If he looks bad, go small ball with Reiber and run and gun. I don't think OSU could keep up and score with us. Reiber brings more offensively but TBD on how he can hold up with D and rebounding. Also seems like a time to get Palmquist back out there for some minutes.

Quite honestly I’m not gung ho.... more on the level of take it one day at a time....it’s only a game and during these times we should remember that...life goes on whether Rutgers wins or loses against OSU or. Chippewa State...we play them right.? I want to win all those games and I’m happy the team does too and all the fan base ...Rutgers is overall a very good club....they will make a good effort... but also keep in mind we are down 3 good players ... actually 2 potential starters and another who is a top recruit beside Cliff... whatever happens tonite ...there will be a light at the end of the tunnel .

I have watched every game and disagree. Doucore is what he is. No one is saying he should start or play big minutes. But I'm totally comfortable with him playing 5-7 minutes per half to give MJ a break. He'll rebound and probably have a putback or 2. He'll also probably be slow on a rotation or 2. But honestly, he won't cost you the game. If he is totally lost, you move to Reiber or go small with Harper at the 5. But I suspect he'll be fine.
Bold prediction: If we win, he'll have a thread on this board.
Think you’re spot on. More than okay with a small rotation with Harper at the 5 as long as Diallo isn’t on the floor.

OSU closed @ -3.5. Vegas 1st half line OSU -1.5, we were leading 10 pts at half 38-28, 2nd half, the line was OSU -5.5, 15:32 up 16, 48-32. Myles hit with a #4 14:51. #4 on Doucoure 10:41 and #5 on Myles 8:46. 59-51. From there it was over, especially with JY hurt a minute later. Refs knew what they were doing.
