My concerns
1. Back up for Myles
2. Any foul trouble for our core 6 players
3. Our perimeter shooting reverting back to mean (I think we continue to get good looks)
4. Our D was a little shaky for stretches (which is normal)
5. Referees calling 3 or 4 phantom calls on Myles

We aren't going 24-0. I have a bad feeling this will be our 1st loss. I predicted 11-9 for B1G. If I had a do over I'd put it at 13-7 or maybe 14-6. That means we lose 6 or 7 games. This is one of them

4. Illinois is a DAMN GOOD offensive team...18th @ 88.2 PPG through 8 games

While they don’t have that seven footer type, they do have multiple guys in the 6‘8“ 240 pound range who are strong and crafty that they can run at you, especially with the Harvard transfer now available.

This is the first game where I think they will miss EO on the defensive end as RHJ will have to guard one of them and stay out of foul trouble.

My guess is that we get the win after a few nervous moments. Douc will have his best game since Minnesota his freshman year and spell Johnson for 10 minutes total. Johnson will be dominant when he is in.

It would be a nice story for Doucoure to shine in his big chance. He may feel more comfortable being the biggest guy on the court with no true centers for OSU and have a big game on the boards. I'd like to see him really crash the offensive boards when he is in and try to contribute to the offense there

2020 is so strange. In a normal year I would put this win as unlikely -going in to a full arena against the ranked THE Ohio state university. But no crowd, an afternoon start. I feel strangely good

Matchups. OSU got bullied in the paint by Purdue. Something Rutgers should be able to do. The game would have been worst if Purdue had better perimeter players like Rutgers. FIG, I think deep down you still value the name on the front of the jersey more than anything else.

I think as Myles gets better and better he is garnering more attention from the refs in a positive way. If you look back at some of MJs fouls over the last few games some have occurred 30 feet from the basket and a few over the backs. He has to play smarter with respect to those issues. he has clearly cut down his fouling in the post and you know with Pike these other instances have been a priority leading up to tomorrow.

If Myles stays out of foul trouble and gives us 30 minutes, we will win. I fully expect Douc to get 10 minutes or even Reiber to play if necessary and Oscar may get a couple minutes in a pinch too.

Really want this one...given that this continues a stretch (starting with Illinois) where 7 of 10 games were against nationally ranked teams

After beating Illinois and Maryland ...getting these next two ...getting us to 4-0/8-0....would be huge with 4 of the next seven still against top 25 foes ...

I would love to see us at 8-3/12-3 after that stretch of games are done ...with 9 games to go. And to get there...I think we need to win the next two ....

Here is why this is really sad and funny... this is the exact same board and same posters who were ecstatic after our win against Illinois and our move to number 11 in the country... now Cliff gets injured and thankfully not badly and we are already deciding we will suffer our first loss to OSU tomorrow...Pathetic loser mentality... you think the team is not going to play with their hair on fire? ... Good teams respond to adversity and we are , according to what I have heard this season , we are a very good team with high expectations... True Rutgers fan base ...”whoah is me “... Pathetic attitude from years of beat downs.... You should be embarrassed for yourselves... Do you think this team and Coaches think they can’t win ? ...And if we are not as fortunate it’s not the end of the world... just a bump In the road...Cliff now is the reason we will lose do to his absence... there were many who said “ he’s not ready”..now he is the 2nd coming of JC... Shamefull...

I’m just not impressed with Ohio State. We will lose our share this year, but I don’t think this one of them.

Our first ten league games are MUCH harder than our second ten. 2-0 was a dream start. Winning @OSU with or without fans is a tough, tough game.

I have seen OSU play twice now. They are a solid team but have lots of holes. I expect to beat them if Myles does not get in foul trouble early (which if I was the OSU coach I would try and do).

Really surprised by the reaction here. GFR is to be expected as he frets about everything especially on the defensive side of the ball . However,,this is a different RU team. The confidence and swagger is clear that the expect to win every game that they step on the court. Kyle Young and EJ Liddell will have to be kept off the glass and Washington harassed but we are better than them everywhere . Our offensive and defensive efficiency is off the charts, our Kenpom numbers are as well. We will likely play well as I think the Illinois game gave the team even more confidence. Ohio State would have to hit 15 threes and play a great defensive game to beat us. At home , Rutgers wins by 10-15. On the road between 5-10.

You have to have some faith. This is not the RU of the last 25 years. Of course we aren't going undefeated and will lose some games, but we are Real Good. IF, we turn up our D and stay out of foul trouble, we will win.

The oddsmakers know that 80% of bettors take favorites(give me the favorite, give me the favorite), and that is why most bettors end up losing. They want the money to be evenly distributed, but just check out NFL lines and see what % of the favorites are bet versus the underdogs. You would be amazed, if you did not know that already.

Best of Luck,
Groz

If you were to rank them all by win probabilities this one is probably between 4 and 7th toughest.

If you think we are going 14-6......this would be a logical one to possibly lose

We have a lot of momentum, confidence and composure coming into the game. I believe the coaching staff will make the proper adjustments and managing the rotations despite the injuries. They’ve done a great job so far this season.

I’ll be interested to see if a Myles Doucure rotation is used at all during the game.

I have watched OSU. We are the better team. However, it's hard to play your "A" game every game. We will have some hiccups along the way, so we shall see! On paper, I think we are the better team though.

I am nervous because of the Cliff situation. Those who seem in la la land with the idea of Doucore on the court must be fair weather fans and haven’t watched the last 3 years. Might as well play 4 on 5

I have watched every game and disagree. Doucore is what he is. No one is saying he should start or play big minutes. But I'm totally comfortable with him playing 5-7 minutes per half to give MJ a break. He'll rebound and probably have a putback or 2. He'll also probably be slow on a rotation or 2. But honestly, he won't cost you the game. If he is totally lost, you move to Reiber or go small with Harper at the 5. But I suspect he'll be fine.
Bold prediction: If we win, he'll have a thread on this board.
