Its almost as if we are facing a defense that forces a ton of turnovers and we don't have our two primary ballhandlers.
True but its made harder by the way we tried to attack it. we played right into the pressure, first by not attacking it in the half court early name then by leaving the middle open against the full court late. Those things should have been fixed

After the first half, I’m not even going to complain about that last 2 minutes. Plus, LSU grabs and fouls worse than UL did back in the pitino days with their press.

two wins in a row against good teams without our starting back court.
People need to keep in mind that Kentucky has played two teams that will be 5 or 6 seeds and beat them without the starting back court.

Agree, but that last 3:00 had nothing to do with LSU and 100% to do with us playing like morons. I have no idea what the hell we were doing.
They were grabbing and pushing. Refs decided to even up fouls. I agree we looked bad that wasn’t all us.

The Mintz travel was BS, stupid 10 and 5 second call. Then 3 horrible turnovers. It’s amazing the refs called it so clean until the last 8 minutes.
Why was Brooks on the floor instead of Hopkins? Hopkins is a better passer/ball handler. I get it in a normal flow of a game but Hopkins won this game for UK tonight. Let him play.

Also why did Toppin not want to get the ball in quickly? You want to get ball in and he kept letting LSU set up their press. Just fortunate the officials didn't start count sooner.

Also-you now see why many of us said to press UK the entire game if you were Alabama/LSU. This is what happens.

Special to get 2 W's without depth at guard let alone the starting backcourt out.

True. We struggled with it more than we should have.

And I have to think coming into this game they knew LSU would press at some point.

But as long as Tyty and Wheeler come back, I'm not going to sweat the last 2 mins of this one all that much. It was another big win shorthanded. We played great offensively for 18 mins in that second half against a very good LSU defensive team without 2 starters.

This coming on the heels of one of the best offensive games we've had in the Cal era vs Alabama. Again without two starters.

Tell us again why the scoring droughts and over dependence on mid range shots will keep us from making a deep run.
I've never stated that an over reliance on midrange will keep up us from making a deep run. We've been one of the best teams in the country for almost two months now. In fact, we often don't even notice when we shoot poorly from midrange because we are quite adept in every other facet.

We can be the best team in the country, but that does not necessarily entail we are playing optimally.

I agree Brooks should not touch the ball trying to get it in. He will turn it over if pressured and he freezes even passing it in. He’s not comfortable. I have no idea why Cal put him in there.

I am at a loss sometimes. I would have just heaved the ball to the other end of the court with 3 seconds left up by 4. Only way you lose is if you can't get the ball in bounds. I am not sure I would have Brooks in bounding. Almost 10 mil a year and his in game coaching baffles me at times. Not a hater but I just don't understand his logic at times. I am not a BB guru so I am sure it is my logic that is flawed. .

Good win, Hopkins Rallied us - Next man up
Yeah man I'm with you. It really grinds my gears when we can't figure out how to claw back from almost down double digits at the half without our starting 1 and 2 guards two games in a row. Wish the dude could coach.

Dukes even said it. That press would’ve been nothing with Ty or Wheeler. Survive and advance. Take the W. I know that’s hard for some of us.

Thanks man. I needed that.

Got to call myself out if making incorrect takes. HAPPY to do so. Rather be wrong and see that performance then right and watch the team suck.

If we were to rate everyone after every 100 posts they made and judged them by accuracy, insight, and consistency you'd be one of the top 5 commentors on a regular basis. Even you though aren't going to be right about everything- it happens. jmHo anyway.

These two wins are huge and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. It’s a W. Now we have TyTy and Wheeler that much more time to rest and still won.

Yea, Cal did a terrible job dribbling the ball against the press
What a dense response. It’s Cal’s job to coach these guys up and put them in the best position to succeed. He obviously did not do that, so yes, the $10 million man deserves some criticism over the clusterfrick that was the last two minutes.

There was some strange calls the last minute or two, most against Kentucky, quick 3 second call, Mintz was fouled if anything, Grady's arm was grabbed on the sideline when he lost the ball. On the flip side Cal not playing one of the two almost bit him in the ***, the team has to be tough when the going gets rough. LSU making those desperate threes was BS, they don't hit shots like that against anybody else.
