It is definitely defensive. Cal's teams always click on offense once they realize that their collective defense will create turnovers/board opportunities and get us the ball back. Our perimeter defense is extremely poor.
That being said....we have 41 thanks to 7 3's that normally you wouldn't bank on having. Damn sure glad we have them, but my comment was more broad based on the season thus far, not just today.
So, VT has better basketball players than UK does I suppose. No discipline, they appear lazy on defense, stand around on offense but thy continue to be allowed to stay in the game. Just how long does it take for such a “young team” to grow up?
VT is good. Any team that has the 2nd best offense in the country is going to be good.

Richards has to defend the rim so we don't have to play help on drives. They are scoring in the paint as well as on the perimeter. Va Tech is just spreading us out and taking what we give them.

You have to think that out 2nd half defense is much better. Hopefully, VT won’t continue to be that hot. I’m also hoping that we can wear them down due to our depth.

We were seeing glimpses of what they can be on offense, unfortunately we have the potential for 15 or more turnovers a game too. Defensively we looked like we just started practicing last week, to much standing around and watching til somebody gets ready to shoot and then it's to late.
If half the people on this page turn off the game, we have a great chance today.

We made 7 threes and also shot well and are down 6 at half to an unranked team at home.
Knox is a really good player with all kinds of potential but he may have the worst hands I've seen in a long time. I played with a guy once we called board hands. That's Knox
