Solid D in the second half. Great play. Still have room to grow and I’m sure we will have a clunker sometime in conference play.

BUT.

We don’t win this game a week ago.

What did you see in the 1st half (or this season) that makes you think that’s possible?

We let them score nearly 50, make 7 threes, and shoot 63% overall.

Do that in the second half and we lose by 15+

Well, you can no longer say you haven’t seen it this year. It may sound cliche after all these years with Cal, but these are almost entirely freshmen. They just beat a team that has averaged 96 points per game against 10 D1 teams. These Cats are growing whether you want to believe it or not.

Just watched a block called against IU which was the same as the one called on Diallo but they called it a block. McRoberts moved under the shooter after he left his feet just the same as the defender did against Diallo. Somehow Diallo's is an offensive foul but this one got called correctly a block.

Great win against a high quality opponent that lights it up. D was not great in the first half but seemed more solid in the 2nd. A big win for this team. Go Cats!

Cats should shoot ALL three's. They have a better three percentage than field goal percentage...

Impressed with the cats and Cal's coaching today. This is a really good win. VT is going to put a hurting on some ACC foes this year. That is a top 10-15 team right there.
I've always been impressed with Buzz Williams' teams. They're rarely the most talented but they play hard, get all the loose balls, their share of the boards and never under-achieve. They're fighters and they make you fight back or get KO'd. We won the fight at the end!

Not sure if you are aware but that’s kind of how the world works

When you see something bad (the first half) you have one opinion. When you see something great (the second half effort) your opinion can be changed.

The difference is you are 90 percent negative. Every game is a predicted loss from you. When we get behind or play poorly it is a steady drumbeat of doom and gloom from you. Maybe if you'd resist the urge to post every time we do something wrong, you wouldn't have the reputation you have. I used to be very similar, but I learned that it made me miserable and I've gotten much better. Maybe you will too.

No real complaints today. Still concerned with turnovers. And to be playing a team with only one guy over 6’6, we gave up too many rebounds. Take the win wait for the next game.

I love reviewing the game thread after the game to see the posts of some of you absolute chicken littles making fools of yourselves. [roll] Keep up the good work with your meltdowns.

Observation by knowledgeable u6 fan:

We get Va. Tech twice this year. We'll be good if we split. Pussycats gonna lose.

We will beat VT twice. Their tallest player is 6’6”. Our guard play is light years ahead of UKs. UK got some home cookin and they had to play their best game of the year to win.
