Put a damn premium on players that have skills and fundamentals, instead of projecting the future draft boards, regardless if it fits your roster needs. We never have conventional lineup anymore where players are all at their true positions. Its too much about getting all the McDonalds boys regardless if it fills your roster needs. Wouldn't hurt to have an actual offense either.

just imagine if we had skill guys...we are shooting 52% from the floor, 39% from three. 10 assists on 18 baskets with just 5 turnovers.

if we had those skill guys we would be a team that shoots 60% from the floor. maybe 50% from three. because you know...those numbers are possible

What's missing this year is a rim protector. Bam does not seem to have the knack right now. SKJ probably doesn't either. Without one, we're S16 material, just is what it is. A great year by almost anyone else's standards, a mid-level disappointment for us, considering we'll lose 8 or so guys regardless.

And all you fans are stupid that complain like this, we were early, young and up by like 13 at half....time to give up. Stop watching if you expect to win by 50 all the time.

Plus, this was kind of a stupid game to schedule. No fans really want to travel this weekend and how do the players like this? Traveling to play a joke of a team right before flinals, big games like UNC and UofL....just a yawner.

Cal has an obsession with being able to switch everything. He seems to recruit to hopefully be able to do that. Just gotta wonder if that's possible nowadays. Too many good athletes and players.

Bailed us out of what? Please enlighten me... accepting his role as a bench player? that's what he is, not a starter but a bench player... but if you're gonna sit there and act like this kid hasn't made some stupid mistakes and get caught out of position on defense more and more every week, you're blind.. I'm not dogging Dominique at all, just saying that he's regressed and hasn't shown up like I thought he would.. wish that wasn't the case...... but it is..

Dominique has only gotten better and you are unable to assess that obvious fact

monk made that three but where the eff is the discipline. Those are bad shots and cal just isn't even mad at him for taking quick guarded 3's. Like I said it earlier..... such a lack of discipline it's like Josh Pastner is wearing a cal mask on our sidelines coaching
I've thought the same all year long. Everyone pumping Fox like he's John Wall, but I haven't liked how he's ran the team all year. I like Fox' s potential, but he has a long way to go. The teams shot selection has sucked all year.

Holy crap we basically get anyone we want . I can't believe either of these posts are real. We get more great players then anyone including Duke. Just look at last year's class we got 4 lotto locks and one other 1st rounder. Duke got 2 lotto locks and 2 first rounders. Edge UK. Look at the class so far this year - again UK has the best class and will end most likely with Diallo/Bamba/Vanderbilt and a grad transfer.

Reading your incredibly ridiculous post, that's a compliment. I sure won't spend the time explaining it to you. We absolutely haven't been getting the exact players we want. Not to the extent we were in 2009-12. Cal has had more misses lately than he did in his first 3 years combined.

Try to be objective every now and then. People will start taking you slightly More seriously.

Yyyyyyyou are pretty much "dogging" Hawkins. Kid is doing his job, I don't know what you are looking for out of him. He hit a three and guarded his man, that's his job. The foul calls are really tight today, so tough defense takes a hit.

We have unc coming up next. Play like this and we lose by double digits. That's why people are frustrated with our defense and rebounding
That's exactly right!!!
I'm bitching and admit it. Do I have any doubt as the whether we win this game? No. We are too deep to lose this game. Against this team.
But if his is the team that shows up for UNC and Louisville we will get our butts kicked.

I'm watching my Titans choke against the Broncos so havent' watched first half. I see we are up 48-33, but reading the game thread you would think we were losing.
Exactly. we have some people here that expect UK to go on a 22-0 run to start every game. When they don't do that our fans go nuts and only know how to burn off their frustrations by trashing our players.

This thread turned ugly quick.

there is no performance that would satisfy some fans. they thought we had an unbeatable team. the ucla loss has shattered them mentally. now it doesnt matter. to them...we are just a random team. horrible in many facets.

I'm with you, Pulaski Cat Fan. Although Briscoe is having an outstanding game today against inferior competition, IMHO the 2016-17 'Cats would be a much better team if Briscoe was not starting. Briscoe's return to the lineup after his injury has badly stunted the development of Fox and Monk -- both of whom were outstanding and coming into their own in Briscoe's absent. IMHO, the tandem of Fox and Monk could be the best backcourt combination in the country. But, Briscoe was anointed as "the team leader" before they ever played a game, and the powers that be will insist that that be the way it is throughout the season. Thereby, IMHO, the powers that be adversely affect our chances to win No. 9.

it seems like we provide help at the rim when the play is already perfectly defended. Leads to easy buckets and explains the atrocious defensive rebounding.

It is fixable, however.

Pretty much sums up what I'm saying. We aren't terrible but, we have some obvious problem areas. If we can notice them against a garbage team like Hofstra you just know UNC and the Tards will try to exploit them.
Just gotta be better on defense and the boards.
