Doesn't really matter if we do or don't - the fact that they we start trying to drive and draw the fouls will change the complexion of this game.

They are playing us for the drive as they should....damn hard to drive with four guys in the paint every play. They know only Ullis and Murray can shoot sagging way off all the other perimeter guys. It's the pack...wayyyyy back line defense.

Kentucky will make adjustments at halftime. Look for the guards to get into the paint which will make Ucla defend. They didn't have to the first half. This will create more fouls or rebounds. The question is can we hit our free throws?
Bilas can't stand it the Kentucky stomped his Dookies,UCLA's gameplan is having Refs refuse to call fouls on the Home Team while mugging UK's best Rebounder with a non-called flagrant and allowing UCLA defenders to put hands all over ball handlers, works everytime
another blowhard that blames refs when we are losing and playing like crap.

There is still another half to play. While we didn't;t match UCLA's intensity to begin the game, I think Cal makes adjustments that allows the second half to be closer.

This is why when BAM signed with us...i was drooling. We will not lose in rebounding margin. That boy will bully his way to all the rebound, it'll be hilarious.

Jamal Murray + Skal = one of the biggest pair of overrated recruits I have ever seen.
Wow. Overreact much. Did you see John walls first few games? How about Anthony Davis? Was well after Christmas - even into league play that AD started blowing up. These guys are 18 and have played SEVEN college games.

I think Cal is perfectly fine with losing tonight. He's not making any in-game adjustments and seems to be more stand-offish than usual. Lose now and the pressure is off perhaps? Just speculating.

I don't know what adjustments Calipari can make. Alford's gameplan is exactly what the numbers suggest: make us a jump shooting team and we'll flail.

Defense has been just as bad or worse. Entire team looks lost and blaming a tough home whistle doesn't excuse some of the poor execution.

Umm both Wall and Davis also showed signs of brilliance early in the season. Not saying Skal wont at some point but the comparison is silly.

If you shoot jump shots and not aggressive on the offensive end of the court the other team doesn't have to foul. Likewise on the defensive end if you aren't aggressive and lazy you will foul alot. It ain't the refs...it's how Kentucky is playing. I would be shocked if they don't come out more aggressive and drive the ball to the basket. If they do they win by 6 - 10 points.

Sorry, but if you think we were really only fouled twice in that half then you're simply wrong. Yes, we could have been more aggressive, but there was one possession where we were fouled twice alone, and yet they called nothing. The refs have been very tight with the whistle tonight, but UCLA has gotten a bit more favorable one.

everybody saying we can't drive it, please just watch UCLA, they are playing one of the most compact zones I've ever seen. This is basketball, at a certain point you have to hit jumpers. We are not going to find a lot of driving lanes or layups/dunks. Murray and Ulis need to understand this, look for their shot and take it confidently.

Thank God somebody else gets it!!!!

This is Alford's superbowl. If he wins this, he buys himself several more years, and his programs takes a bump up.

Your constant complaining about fouls. When your offense is all jump shots, you will never get fouled. How can all the ones complaining about fouls not understand it? Ill St had 10 free throws, we had 45, its simple

Exactly.... great point. You must take it to the rack and draw fouls.

Hopefully this is a wake up call. At least we can put the undefeated season talk to rest.

First true road game in a hostile arena for this bunch, not unexpected our freshman look out of sorts...

...plus they're shooting 50%.

Just need to come out with some better energy next half, challenge their jump shooters and get to the rim on our end.

Part of the reason the offense is all jump shots is because UCLA has been allowed to grab and put 2 hands on any and all players that start to drive. After that goes uncalled for 10 minutes, young players tend to start "settling" fornjump shots.
Call the game by the "new rules" and this is a different game. That said, our guys need to go all out to the rim anyway.

Chill with all the paranoia. It's a cross country game against a team hungry for revenge in a packed stadium. We are young. They executed and we settled. They got hot we stayed cold. There's still a whole second half in which I believe we'll play better. Fans jumping off on Skal or Murray as high draft picks? smh. IT'S EARLY.

Can we just watch the UCLA cheerleaders until we decide to play defense?
