Not if he stays another year, which he should. If he can't handle college post players, he has not shot at NBA players. KAT took a while to improve in that area too, but he's starting out behind where Karl was.
our guys are just taking jump shots and avoiding contact at all costs. It's like we have a bunch of Kyle Wiltjer's out there. I expect Cal to get that fixed at halftime.

When only two of your guards can shoot...and one of those two is saddled with foul trouble and on the bench. Then the opponent is going pack the paint and take away the drive. I'm not sure we can hit enough jump shots to win this game. I hope so!!! They know that Matthews, Briscoe, Hawkins, and Poythress can't hit jump shots. Humphries is the third best jump shooter of the players who actually play. (sorry mulder)
If we cannot open up the middle then this game is going to continue to be tough. They are giving everyone but Murray a ton of room. Need to hit open 3s and make them come out and guard it. That will open up the lane.
WE will make a run and UCLA isn't very good but they have very good talent . One of the top 20 talented teams in the country . But the coach blows.
Hopefully the equipment manager is on his way back to the hotel to get the team's testicles that must have been left behind.
So much for dribble drive. No one is trying to drive the ball. That's our strength, yet they all act like UCLA has put up a brick wall. That's why we haven't been fouled much.
In-game redass is the worst.

You do realized Monmouth beat ND as well and is a very good team . Like top 40 . They are a better team then half of the SEC so that comment shows your lack of cbb knowledge.
I think they could hit enough jump shots to win this game. I think in the end we'll be ok tho
Your constant complaining about fouls. When your offense is all jump shots, you will never get fouled. How can all the ones complaining about fouls not understand it? Ill St had 10 free throws, we had 45, its simple

Doesn't really matter if we do or don't - the fact that they we start trying to drive and draw the fouls will change the complexion of this game.
We're very young and VERY weak inside; we're seeing a very average coach in Alford taking advantage of our weaknesses.
On the plus side: we have Cal, one of the best, so let's see if he comes up with a way for this young team to overcome our weakness.

Hard for them to do what they do best, penetrate and score around the basket, when no one but Ulis can be a consistent three-point shooter. Got to have space to operate to do that. Skal is sucking pretty hard though.

Bilas can't stand it that Kentucky stomped his Dookies,UCLA's gameplan is having Refs refuse to call fouls on the Home Team while mugging UK's best Rebounder with a non-called flagrant and allowing UCLA defenders to put hands all over ball handlers,works everytime
At the game. Beautiful place, and cool fans. Besides that, we are getting beat at every facet of the game.
we have good shooters..murray,ulis and willis when he's in ..but cal wants them to drive...ulis has passed up on several open 3's....he and murray are 40+ %
everybody saying we can't drive it, please just watch UCLA, they are playing one of the most compact zones I've ever seen. This is basketball, at a certain point you have to hit jumpers. We are not going to find a lot of driving lanes or layups/dunks. Murray and Ulis need to understand this, look for their shot and take it confidently.
