It's weird like every year it seems like we are going to be a great team and we start off so good. Then bam it seems that Calipari purposely tears the team down to build them back up! The exception was last year when we got killed the first game of the year.

Well, up 8 is better than down a couple.
I think I read that UK was down 9 at the half. to this team in 2017.?
Well three of our guys who did return are banged up.
I actually think it has nothing to do with the returning guys. They are solid.

I just don’t think we have a anything near a stud frosh. This as of right now looks to be Cal’s worst collection of incoming talent (in terms of readiness and skill) since 2012-2013. It might be his worst considering that team had Noel. But it’s hard to know what their ceiling is.

It’s very obvious what’s going on. We always have three guys who don’t know what’s going on. Don’t know the offense, don’t know how to rotate, don’t know how to switch, don’t know how to rebound. It’s gonna take time like always. We will have games where it clicks and then you can see the potential. Don’t give up yet!

MSU win got my expectations up too quickly. Need to temper them.

That’s what I’m thinking
Something is seriously wrong internally

Injuries to our veterans? We havent had the same squad for any of these first 4 games. Inconsistent.

I think its a bit too early to assume there's some sort of internal riff. I think our freshman as just a bit more shook than normal. And it certainly doesn't help that Brooks and Whitney look more like athletes than basketball players.

Heres a good thing though Nick has improved a bunch. It’s his team for awhile now.

Don’t think it’s fools gold but there’s tape on him now. He needs to adjust. He trying to learn all kinds new things as well.
Yeah, but all those tough runners and long jumpers shot from his chest went in against MSU, he's been a turnover machine and a brick layer ever since. That's what I.mean by fools gold. He's trying to relive that magic instead of making the smart play and he looks bad in the process.

I’m feeling optimistic. I think they’ve been playing tight and are about to turn it around. Hit some threes and get some stops.

True.

Your statement mainly applies to the players themselves.

I don't think many of us lost ourselves in the stratosphere at the MSU win. It was a good win over the #1 team in a crappy year where there is no real top flight team. The "#1 team" this year would be somewhere between the #4 to #10 type team most other years.

Spot on. The team always looks lost and arguably miserable when they are being taught to switch on D, something they've NEVER done. The the team looks completely different as the season goes on. Sadly, some of our fans never get it and keep freaking out over the stuff they see every year. So basically these 18 year old kids are able to learn but some of our "fans" are not.

I just want Cal to stop recruiting guys like Whitney for real. Just like Diallo they are too raw to be the contributors we need. I’d take a Herro every year over a Whitney.
Yeah, but when all the better guys go elsewhere, you have to take guys that have potential and come from a good family.

I think there is a bit of sensationalism going on here. Have we looked sharp? No. But we only gave up 27 points. The way the media is talking we gave up 40.

If we win this game 70-54 are we all really going to be upset?

I agree and I think Whitney will be a good player eventually. It just sucks that we need some new guys who know how to play for early season success, right now we have to many guys that are very raw. We also don’t have that Monk/Fox/Wall/ MKG/ Towns stud who can carry us.
