I know this is more of a rhetorical question but I figured I’d go look. As you’d imagine nothing earth shattering.
We turned the ball over a lot less. .08 per game in 18 vs 1.7 in 2017.
Fitz’s passer rating improved slightly rom 117 to 121
On the ground as a team we averaged 5.8 ypc in 18 and 5.2 in 17. (Total ypg down 25 y and 9.5 fewer carries)
Through the air 175 yards per game, up from 166.9 (attempts per game down from 27 to 24)
On a per play basis we averaged 6.3 yards to 5.5 in 17. (Total plays per game down 12.3)
On the season we were 61/39 run pass ratio in 2018 and 64/36% in 2017.
What we are doing doesnt pass the eye test, statistics be damned.
Our offense is slow and plodding. We dont get any kind of an offensive rhythm going. Our plays take too long to develop.....SEC DLs get off their blocks faster in this league. Our receivers drop too many passes. Fitz calls his own number too often on the option plays. I bet our total number of offensive plays per game is down dramatically from last year.
It's a **** show, and it has been all season. We lost five games this year, and at least three (and maybe four) were against inferior opponents. That can't happen....ever. The best defense perhaps in bulldog history was wasted on an 8-5 team and it's a damn shame.
Cohen should have walked out on the field and fired moorhead in the middle of the game after the three qb runs from inside the 3 ended up netting us 3 points. That would at least have given me something to cheer about after driving 12 hours and sitting in the blazing sun to watch that abortion.
Hallelujah, holy ****! Wheres the tylenol?
