Agreed, need a starter at the 3 (Coward hopefully) and a backup 5 from the portal and then this group should be set.

The ceiling of next year's squad is ultimately going to be dependent on how big of a jump Evans and Foster can take in year 2 and 3 respectively.
Agreed here - I think Jon made a calculated decision to not recruit over Foster and honestly it is kind of refreshing. Foster also could looked for a fresh start. I think the way both navigated the middle of the year - together - says a lot about both of them. That being said you are likely done in the backcourt with these 4 so you need a leap from Foster and Evans while also getting more than you expect from Boozer and Harris.

I think Duke needs an impact 3 and in the 5 second since I found out he existed I would like Sarr. He is long, plays both ends and provides positional versatility. That and a lob threat would be about as good as you can get at this point

Big time guard play wins it all most times. It
was needed over and over again in close games this year. In most maybe all of the close losses this year you had turnovers, missed free throws and disorganized offense. I am sorry. I don’t see anyone currently on the team as of now that i have confidence can fill that role. I hope i am wrong. I see no floor general with ice water in the veins.

I see a board full of guys (and maybe girls) that don't remember the jump Nolan Smith and the whole Duke program took from losing to VCU in the tournament to winning it all. Foster gave us great minutes last year and now he's ready for a bigger role. Same goes the rest of our returnees. I like our position better than anybody out there at this point.

Great point dade. Quinn Cook also took huge strides throughout his time at Duke.

I like Duke’s 2025-2026 team

Yeah but most of those guys were starters. But I see your point.

The more I think about Sean Stewart the more I like it. 1-2 million you can be our spark plug off the bench. Let bygones be bygones. Get him and Coward. (I wanted Stewart or Mitchell back last year) If we brought Brown and Stewart off the bench our frontcourt would be ridiculous. ( I realize this will never happen)

I want players that are well skilled at playing basketball. Kon is the best example of this. Man he plays the game so smart and under control that he uses more athletic defenders to his advantage.
Can you imagine him as a four year guy? Everyone talks about Coop and rightly so, but a four year KK would be something to behold.

If Stewart came back and succeeded, the boo-birds would come out and complain about how a guy who transferred from Duke because of PT blossomed, and if only we'd given him -- given him -- 15mpg, we could add his exact scoring average to the final score of the Houston game.

Foster needs to really improve over the next few months. We need guards that causes defenses trouble. They need to be able to get into the lane. That opens up so many possibilities. Duke hasn't had that in a few years.

Right me too.

Sean Stewart brings absolutely nothing to the table except athleticism, just about no game skills.

That’s all I was saying.

Great news. We did lose our 5 best guys if Mal leaves though. Some work to do.
