Odds On Landing Giles??

Isn't strange that UNC is not in any of these high profile NC guys. I mean 10 years ago or even the Hansbrough era, you would think UNC would get these guys. Duke has not only surpassed UNC but UNC is not even an option. The kid last year followed UNC growing up, Giles said favorite team growing up was UNC. Most are saying Giles is the second best player to come out of NC since Jordan and right there with Danny Manning.

Just weird that UNC is not even getting on the final list for in state kids, Dean Smith and Roy never lost recruiting battle in state. It must be miserable to be a UNC fan to have Duke dominating winning NC"s and killing them recruiting.

Dont get me wrong GIles is good, but Wall was better prospect in high school. I do think he would have a better case had it not been for his torn ACL he suffered a couple of years ago.

I'm curious on UK's odds with him. I continuously read not to count UK out and that their chances of getting him are better than people think. I've also read it's between Wake and Duke, and read another person say it's between Wake and UK. So, does anyone really know?? With Duke getting the last visit and him and Tatum being BFF, I would assume Duke will be the pick.

When someone says "I don't think" when it comes to recruiting it is rare to be able to connect it concretely to a source or quote... recruits often speak in recruit-speak, where they are complimentary to all of the programs that are recruiting them. But when you start to put together multiple quotes and actions from sometimes several years, along with the various input and scuttlebutt from message boards and twitter and the media, you start to come up with thoughts. Of course, you might be right or wrong... but if someone say "I think so-and-so" in recruiting it rarely comes with a source.

Don't take other people's comments out of context. I was responding to a guy who said our chance to sign Giles is zero. Our chance is not zero. Calipari has recruited Giles hard for a long time, and Giles is coming to BBM. I do not presume to know our chances, but I suspect our chances are better than the conventional wisdom.

Like your other posts on Giles, this 1 isn't fact based either. Calipari has been recruiting Giles for years. Calipari's recruitment of Giles incorporates BBM, but isn't completely dependent as you think. You don't know if Giles is a Duke lock, and you don't know what is guiding his thinking. You are only regurgitating your interpretations of what you read. Giles is attending his 2nd straight BBM, which suggests he has been listening to Calipari all along. I don't know where Giles will go to college, and neither do you.

No mystery. There are a couple of good reasons. UNC's program is scandalized. Players don't want to sign there without knowing what will happen. Other programs like Kentucky and Duke are doing a better job of getting their players to the next level. It's been a while since Roy has produced a significant NBA player. Why would anyone want to sign with UNC under these circumstances?

of course I don't know where he will go. But I know what others are saying. enough to know I shouldn't get my hopes up. Steve Smith and Oak Hill are are plus for us , BBM is a plus for us but word around here is that Tatum and Giles gave K the nod like half a year ago ..... which is also the word Duke insiders got and why they were so confident in Tatum and now with Giles. Like I said..... things change but the massive hype that only Duke players get has to worry you about Giles ....
