I didn't say you were going to Hell countryroads89, I said according to Almighty God's Word you are a fool.
If you go to Hell, that will be by your choice to continue being what you've been warned not to be, and continuing to not recognize Almighty God's Wisdom which will quite easily keep you from being such as you've been identified by your self deceit and arrogance.
He's not a politician. He doesn't think through his statements well, and in some cases, makes some really dumb statements. This statement not included.
OK...please provide an example or two of Canada's ' lax immigration policy', which has affected the US in a negative manner. You do know both Border Agencies are more interlinked now than ever right? Constantly providing meaningful Intel back and forth.
Perhaps the idiot statement by Carson was him simply pandering to his base...regardless it was cavalier and stupid. Do you feel National Guard troops are warranted on the Northern border? And where will you put them along the thousands of miles it extends? Surely you find this idea a ridiculous waste of time and money don't you?
As for how the media treated Obama in comparison to Carson, perhaps a bias exists, I don't know...however when he lays whoppers like this one out there...well he certainly deserves a bit of ridicule or at least queried on it, no?
Obama was the one who said we vet refugees and migrants unlike any other country. He was the one that said it takes 2 to 3 years to go through the process. If Obama's tell me the truth, this means that Canada's policies on immigration or more laxed than ours. If you think he's lying, then give us the facts.
I personally don't feel National Guard is required on the border but perhaps Dr. Carson does. That does not make him stupid or an idiot. You may disagree but I guarantee you he is infinitely smarter than you are.
The US, and for specifically New York City, is a much, much bigger target than anything Canada has to offer.
And your comment that "perhaps a bias exists" either shows your ignorance of the US media or your stupidity.

Considering traffic cameras on the northern border recently captured these images of illegal activity, the national guard on the northern border may be justified after all.

You said we had 'lax immigration ' yet offer zero proof other than some kind of quasi end around relating to what Obama said...in fact you've been doing it numerous times in this thread PAX...Complete semantics....whatever....
It is lax when compared to ours therefore Carson may be justifiably concerned. The proof I offer is based on what our President told us. Is he lying? Also, Your PM says so:

So you welcome Iranians, the largest state sponsor of terror in the world. You welcome Yemenese where they have no functioning government and therefore no way to vet them. What database do you check if you have no government? Remember, Obama called these countries the most dangerous in the world for a reason.

Ben Carson is proof that you don't have to be smart to be a brain surgeon. Both statements were pretty silly to refer to slaves as immigrants.
Here's what Obama said: ... those of African heritage who had not come here voluntarily and yet in their own way were immigrants themselves.
And here's what Carson said: There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less.
They were silly. Slaves were not "immigrants" -- immigrants come of their own free will. Slaves weren't given a choice.
They didnt come on their own free will but they did stay when they were freed. I dont see the issue. It is almost like folks want to act like saying that is insulting. At the end of the day through all their tribulation they had a chance to live the America dream....at least the ones who lived long enough.
I actually agree with both of their statements.

Obviously slaves were forced to come over in the belly of a ship but the point stands.
They are trying to draw a parallel and don't deserve to be criticized by those whose ancestors had a choice in the matter. Fact is, African-Americas have ancestors that were here from the beginning and confuses me with people with slavic or say Italian sir names names think they have these historic claims that others don't.
