Newton having a harder time than I thought with West. 7 to 6 west going into the half unless they pull one off last sec

As I said, predictable. Even the Freedom/Hibriten game will be somewhat predictable. I'm telling ya if Watauga could play some defense they could sneak up on a first. They may be small but they look quick

Beamer, is Hibriten QB ok? heard high ankle sprain
Don't know. Didn't watch game listened to West and Newton on radio while I worked. We play Saint this week so resting Ferguson would be a good move. Backup QB has gotten plenty of reps in these blowout games so should be good until we play Watauga and Freedom.

I hope he's ok. I think Hibriten has a chance at a deep run... maybe best yet! Very well rounded on offense and very impressive D.

I see Hibriten as the best 3A team from the west... with 2A numbers. I ALMOST bought a Hibriten hat the other day in case they make a championship appearance. Wish them the best!

I still think the best Hibriten teams were 2009 and 2010. Those boys had West Rowan beat and coulda took state if not for one play. This may be there best chance this year and if you guys say that this team is full of sophomores and there JV team is ringing some heads then looks like another 2A power is on the rise for a dynasty run next to Shelby(speaking in terms of next year).

This school has come a LONG way from the years and years past when they were bout in the same shape as Foard. I've seen mediocre East Burke teams have field days on Hibriten.

Just glad to see an area team is gonna make a run. Would somebody please tell us if South Point is small 3A? And Burns for that matter?

Neither can beat Hibriten. Burns is much improved... S Point is S Point and will challenge teams in the playoffs but neither could handle the Hibriten we see today.

I don't fully understand your post. Watauga's defense isn't the best, but if they're outscoring opponents, does it really matter? A team that can score at will is almost better at the HS level than a team with a great defense, IMO.

In the west small 3A it will probably be Hibriten, Tuscola, West Rowan, Pisgah, Burns, Freedom and South Point. I don't know if JM Robinson or Concord will big or small but they will compete.

Pats I'm off for the Freedom game I'll meet up with you and if we win I'll get you a hat.:D

Well defense wins championships. I don't cringe when Watauga wins games cause I have a lot of family that attended Watauga. Baby cousin of mine won homecoming queen few years ago. Wish them the best this season and every season

Concord is small 3A. Was 4 years ago anyway were they came down to Freedom and beat them in a close thriller.

Although Helms isn't my favorite..... if a teenage son throws the f word
at his dad in a challenging manner, a face slap is getting off light imo.
Not to mention son is 2 to 3 inches taller than dad. This didn't keep him from
getting hired at Hickory.
I'm a 57 year old father of 2. My dad was Army special forces when special forces was in it"s infancy. You did not disrespect him or Mom at any time. Neither did you show disrespect to any adult. He would take his belt to you it didn't matter where or who was watching. You didn't run except in a small circle cause he had you by the wrist. We called it the helicopter spin. It worked wonders. I would have never even said the D word so many of you throw around on here knowing that a woman moderates this site and reads this stuff. I will not allow disrespect from my children. I have 2 girls. Because of that I used a little different tact. I have always talked to them like they are grown. Never baby talked and tried to spoil them. What my rules are today at home apply when we go out in public. My rules will be the same tomorrow. They don't have to look at me to see my mood to know what they can get away with. They know its the same every day. I show my children love and compassion. They know I'm there for them. If they make a mistake we'll talk about it like adults. No hollering or fussing. They are my children and I always want them to trust they can come to me with anything. I've only popped one once for a comment that was smart. I have the oldest out of college and now have one in the 11th grade. The formula is simple. Read above. Kids are not something you take out of a box and holler at in public when things go wrong. It all begins at home, behind closed doors. I heard a coach say just this year that when a little adversity comes to a kid you will find out by how he reacts what his home life is about. There is a lot of truth to that. You can discipline a child through love if you are willing to show it. It takes a man. For young fellas out there just getting going in life take my words to heart. Life is too short to waste it.

Should still be a good buildup for next year we hope. Back in my day unless some player was a mammoth linemen or something Soph didn't play on varsity lol

Yes, Hibriten is senior heavy, but non like that 2010 team that graduated and left, the roster is loaded. It's not like the Sophs are just holding helmets on the sidelines all game long on Friday nights.

Patton 46 hibriten 41 btw
We all will have to wait until 10/28 to find out. It's onto St. Stephens and South Caldwell for HHS & PHS for this week. One game at a time and importantly, getting through the games healthy!

Bro... come out of Salem every once and awhile... that place is getting to you. As happy as I am for Eakin, I dont see him or the entire offense scoring more than 20 on Hibriten, while giving up about 60.

Hibriten defense is the real deal no one player will score that much on them. Patton may score at most 20 hibriten will score 30+ if healthy
