Nwc 3a4a is weakest in state south Caldwell got new coach new system lot of young players will get better south fans to be patient south has freshmen QB good size will get better prediction hibriten freedom Patton watauga south Caldwell hickory st Stephen's Fred t foard

That's a tall order for South to finish on top of Foard/Saint/and Hickory.

Let's face it, it's a huge rebuilding year. South Iredell, who is a powerhouse, had a down year 2 years ago. Not as bad as SC is having cause it's a school full of athletes and blazing speed but it certainly was a down year. South will rise again, so will Hickory. Just won't be this year. Next year SC should have a few wins and year after that- watch out!!

Sparta, I noticed South had some speed on the track team this past year. Which is not too often. I imagine they were DBs and wide outs. Did those guys graduate?

Fat Friday this week! Look for Freedom to win big. Early summer I thought
this could be a close game, but E Burke hasn't played well yet... and not sure
they will. Should be a barn burner when they play Draughn.

South will take it on the chin even worse this week. Butch is bringing AC over in his return to Spartan Stadium and I know that he wants a big win. He didn't leave on good terms with a lot of people there so he may take it all out on the Spartans. That one will be worse than West for South. I also look for Hibriten to continue their streak over a much improved West team. Hibriten is just too good for the teams on their schedule. Probably won't lose until the playoffs if they lose then.

I kinda think Carter wouldn't want to run it up on his former players.
I don't know all the details and wouldn't post it here if I did but it was a conflict with the administration.

On another note.... Patton is #2 in rushing in the entire state.... all classifications.
Only played two games, but still impressive. Congrats Tom Eanes!

Yeah Carter had a conflict with the administration. There was also some other stuff floating around town. But the for sure thing was the conflict with the administration and athletic director. He wasn't getting even close to the support he should have been. The guy would have to beg for field paint at a 4A school that had averaged 9-10 wins the past few years. They didn't care about football and they made it obvious. Baseball is #1 up there and the AD is the baseball coach. It's sad that they don't even hide the fact that they worry about it and everything else kind of is take what you can get. He earned a lot more than he was ever given at South. And I know he holds a massive grudge because of it.

This isn't exaggerating either. It's unreal the lack of support they have shown for the football program. Even going as far as a former coach (in another sport not football) at the school saying he literally heard the AD talking about wanting them to lose during a football game. It wasn't a good situation and he got out. He looks like the genius because the new guy at South...that experiment is going bad. His stuff isn't going to work there. People can stay patient all they want but the scheme will never fit the athletes they produce. People complained about Carter and his one dimensional offense but he just played to his strengths. I don't think Carter has a problem throwing it 15 times a game if he had the players to do it. South would take that offense back in a heartbeat now though.

I always thought Carter was a good coach. AC is a good fit for him.

I was always impressed with the discipline his team carried. Personally fine with
him.... just not a fan of run only football. Wish him the best at AC

Considering Shelby has smoked ACR and South Point Freedoms blowout loss doesn't look as bad.

After week 3...

1. Hibriten
2.Freedom
3. Watauga
4. Patton
5. Foard
6.Hickory
7.St Stephens
8.South Caldwell

I'd say your spot on with that un' I'm not sure who gave a lot of doubt in Watauga earlier but they seem better than what was mentioned.

I posted 2 weeks ago or so that South would still finish over Foard. Don't think that will happen but South will and should be right back to the top in 2 years. This new gig may take a while and HOPEFULLY take effect. Be a gooseegg season, they've had 1 or 2 of those before(and just 3 to 4 years later start having break away winning seasons) and I hate that for Tyler Goins. Good back who IMO would get some carries if he were playing for Freedom or Hibriten hypothetically speaking.

Don't know anything bout Saint this year. Suprised a lot of people last year but I take it that was because a lot of hard working seniors was on the team.

Foard has improved maybe a tiny bit or Bandys is just so down this year they made them look good.

Still not completely sold on Patton since they narrowly beat EB with help from turnovers.

Freedom/Hibriten should be a GOOD gate sale. Freedom only lost to a team that would make Mallard Creek just alittle bit nervous ha ha. I'm pumped bout that one.

I guess Freedom vs TCR is the only notable game this week. TCR hasn't lost but haven't played much competition either.

yeah, Freedom blew them out last year, but prior to that had never
beaten TCR. Should be a decent game.
