Seems like for years Miles tried to get a decent big guy with no success. Then we got Jordy and I thought "maybe...", but nope. Miles said, "Screw it, we don't need a center." We could really use a guy like Watkins imho.

I’ve been watching Watkins and there are possessions where he straight up doesn’t play. It was funny because right after I thought that, the announcer told us Watkins is bipolar...

Would be HUGE if we could find a way to beat Indiana on the road. That would put us at 3-3 with the next 3/4 at home (MSU, OSU & WIS) with the lone road game at Rutgers.

Be interesting if this team can even win 2 or 3 games on the road... I thought we could beat Rutgers, Illinois and Iowa on the road last month...

Yeah, I don't understand what the deal is with Cope. Just doesn't seem the same.
Flu's going around the team. Nana supposedly wasn't even going to play at all tonight but he did get in for a couple of minutes. Don't know if anybody else is not feeling well. Copeland is just not a big guy and I think he probably played more minutes than he should have tonight. I would have liked to see more Borchardt and Roby on the floor at the same time to rest Cope and Palmer more.

People are tiring of Miles' schtick. I've long been on the fire Miles train (year 4) but a lot of Miles fans are running out of time with him and the characteristics of his teams. He needs to win a tourney game and get out of Dodge. Would be best for all involved.
We could probably hire Altman tomorrow. UCLA went on a 28-1 run against Oregon tonight to tie the game at the buzzer then UCLA won it in overtime. Oregon blew a 9 point lead with a minute left.

Fans leaving up 4 with 12 sec left. Lame as hell.
I was at the game and there was a lot leaving with about 90 seconds left and a 4 point game. I just don't get the point of beating traffic. Why go to a game if traffic bothers you that much? Either that or they just knew we had the W.

Ouch! UCLA players didn’t want to play for Alford any more that was plan too see.

What does it say about how the Oregon players want to play for Altman? The 28-1 run thing a talking head dropped on the postgame following our game. I can't verify that by any of the stories about the UCLA/Oregon game so I don't know if that part is true. I am sure that Oregon trailed by at least 16 in the second half and by the 9 with a minute left. I will say that UCLA has some really nice players. Prince Ali is really smooth.

Maybe we should hire UCLA's interim coach. He's undefeated so far.

Man, 0-4 is a real possibility. I’m just not real confident in these guys right now.

Yeah, 0-4 - road games, right? Thing is tho, the schedule gets lighter after the IND/MSU games.

Very likely gonna be 2-5 next Thursday evening but we're the only team in the B1G who opened with four road games in the first six. Other teams have had much more favorable schedules early and more trouble later.

Because of our good non-con play and our middle loaded conf schedule (with easier teams mostly at home) the BB gurus still thinking well of us. KenPom sees us at 11-9 and a three way tie for 5th in conference, ESPN says 12-8 and Warren Nolan 14-6 (<--- he's nutz). So we just gonna wait and see.

I agree with you, yesterday's game dinged our confidence level pretty good and the next two likely gonna hurt more. But I'll take that win (thankfully) and wait for the schedule to turn more favorable.

We're fighting uphill here in the early going but we're going to be coming downhill at our opponents pretty soon. Hope the team can stay on an even keel with their emotions through this.

I know we had some guys under the weather, but Miles is going to have to trust his bench at some point. We have 15 more conference games + tournament, if he only plays 5 guys most of the game, they are going to wear down.

Never have cared for Severe, my sister says he had a local cable tv show, he has some really extreme ideas
Mike'l Severe and Dirk Chatelain are the only two sports guys I have ever heard that try to insert politics into their commentary...which is the reason I discount most of what either of them say.....if I want politics, I'll find a political commentator.....with sports, I want a sports guy who does not talk politics (other subjects from a normal life are okay just not politics)

I've seen Dirk talk about politics on his Twitter handle, but not in his sports stories. Could be wrong though. I think a musician, actor, repairman, construction worker, accountant can all say whatever they want about politics. They are also voters the same as you and I.

Usually people don't mind when people with influence talk politics. They just mind when they talk about politics in a way they disagree with.

Sports writers can be just like a politician...they think they know better. I am always up for a good spirited political debate ...BUT.....not when I am talking sports.....I have heard Dirk and Mike'l talk :"sport" in one sentence and politics in the next (or at least a comment shaded with politics). I will admit it is because both of them are flaming liberals. However, I also hear people like Jim Rose who is not a liberal and I hate it when he interjects politics into sports as well. I just want sports to be SPORTS!

100% spot on, that's why I don't watch espn, I just want sports on a sport show, I used to really like bob costas not anymore, even Curt shilling although he got into trouble on social media, which is a whole different ball game.

The worst guy who has to interject his politics into everything is micah mertes, the OWHs movie guy. He sees every movie and show as a commentary on capitalism.

Should probably judge Altman's entire body of work than just one game.

Maryland about to knock off 22nd ranked Indiana to go to 14-3. While this was a coin flip game, it was not a bad loss. The B1G is a grind this year. And ultimately that will pay off for the Huskers.

None of NU’s losses have been bad losses, the problem is missing on opportunities to add quality wins. Keep losing toss-up games and suddenly your tournament hopes are also a toss-up.

Again, with this talent and this experience, sneaking into the NCAA tournament as a bubble team would be a disappointment. This team should have their site set on the Sweet 16.

As of now the heaviest snowfall is supposed to be from Hebron fairbury beatrice, as of now I'd plan on taking 81 north to highway 6. But I'll have a lot better idea in the morning. Have to go to fairbury myself if snow isn't to bad.
