You got to play and beat everyone in your path if you want to win #9 and go 40-0. Like Cal said anyone can have that perfect night while you have the worst night ever and lose. With so many players available whoever isn't on will be sitting during the game so even if we lose, I don't think this team fears anyone.Originally posted by UK4EVR:
They were the one team I did not want in our bracket.
You know what Duke and UNC have in common with each other and with ND? They can't guard anybody either. If we somehow meet them in the Elite 8 - Great. Let's get it.Originally posted by CUT-NETS:
They just beat Duke and UNC in a 24 hour period. Shew my god you guys kill me. This is a one and done formatted tournament. Its not the best of 5 or 7. One bad night to someone's good night and the party is over. We should be very concerned with every team we play from here on out.Originally posted by JayCatz44:
They rank 111th in defensive efficiency. They're not beating UK.
there is not one team in the Midwest bracket that can beat you guys, NOT ONE.. aside from Duke's bracket you got the easiest bracket and a cupcake walk to the final four....Originally posted by UK4EVR:

This is quite possibly the best post I've read all nightOriginally posted by lacocat:
the only thing that scared me was they would make us split the platoons and put them on opposite sides of the bracket.
Since they lost 2 out of 3 to the Irish, he should've explained "because UK is obviously way, way, way better than Duke."Originally posted by UKWildcats#8:
The darn Duke fan has more confidence in UK against ND than some UK fans. That is pretty sad.
Jay Bilas thinks those random bunch of chumps could give us a game. I been saying that a team that can pull our bigs away from the basket could give us trouble. Thats exactly what Bilas said ND can do. 4 of their starters can hit 3's.Originally posted by DCFseattle:
what a random bunch of chumps to be worried about...
that just begs photoshop...the hunchbacks at ND

From an older (57) guy that has been disappointed more often than not 53 tournaments out of 57, I think we should be concerned about every opponent, if not scared. Some posters are awfully optimistic...makes me wonder if they're not of a much younger set.
I'm shaking in my boots until the morning AFTER the final game. S#!+ happens in the ncaa tournament.
Last year, teams that had quick guards hurt us a lot more than they have this year.Originally posted by Joneslab:
This may have been said on this thread, but more than their outside shooting what concerns you about Notre Dame is how fast they are on the perimeter. Grant and Jackson driving the ball would be a concern as we've shown that we are susceptible at times to dribble penetration.
But I think if that game happens (and I think it will), Notre Dame's lack of depth particularly in the post would really hurt them. They also are not a good defensive team and will give you the shots you want, and we've shown against those kinds of teams this year that we excel.
I worry more about grinding teams that don't turn the ball over and are staunch with possessions. I think we'll win but if we draw Cincinnati in the second round that game could be a lot closer than many think.
They are a good team but the Cats are a totally bad *** team.Originally posted by UK4EVR:

Very very true, been with the Cats since 63 anything can happen, don't count your chickens before they hatch.Originally posted by dezyDeco:

For those that saw UK suffer when an invisible lid was placed over their basket in 1984 vs. Georgetown, and almost didn't make a shot the whole 2nd half... and then saw that powerful Georgetown team lose the very next year to Villanova, who almost didn't miss a shot the whole 2nd half...
...just about anything can happen in the NCAA Tournament.
Just look at the Wall Cousins team........couldn't hit a 3 to save our lifeOriginally posted by dezyDeco:

Usually, only idiots are never scared. However, since neither you nor Md fit that description I'll just say I am scared as ache eee double L every time we play anyone this time of year and that goes double under these circumstances. I watched that Texas Western debacle a few years back.Originally posted by sosoblue:

A Kentucky fan should never be afraid. Are you sure you are one?
It is really goofy that Kansas with 8 losses got a #2 seed while Notre Dame with 5 losses and a conference tournament title got a #3. Kansas got overrated there and Notre Dame got screwed. Notre Dame is one of the better teams in the field, peaking at the right time. Notre Dame will be a nightmare for almost anyone that draws them. But Kentucky is a nightmare matchup for Notre Dame. The Irish don't have enough baseline players to compete with us. We would eat them alive on the boards.Originally posted by catfaninsc:
