I didn’t see anything controversial. Almost seems like Twitter or Facebook censors might be running the show.
(I hope I don’t get banned for saying so.)

That’s what someone who locked it would say.FYI, I didn’t lock it.
While we're on cars, if you were a manufacturer . With the chip shortage having gotten us this far into the year, would you attempt to produce anymore 2021's or just wait a few more weeks and call everything a 2022 ? I'd wait but their cash flows might demand otherwise.

Just checked, appears Patty Peck's calling all new Honda arrivals 2022's
Just like the Ole Miss Sucks thread being locked earlier this week, you bumped an old thread from March. This isn’t a new way of operating the board. DS has done this for years. Instead just start a new thread about it.
FYI, I didn’t lock it.
Yeah, well, that’s just your opinion man.You aren’t wrong, except when you are.
Then you should have just started a new thread and linked the old one for reference. Old threads that get bumped are going to get locked. It’s been that way from the beginning.
OK, thanks. I didn't know that's how y'all wanted it. I'll try to remember that in the future. No worries.

I’m impressed with the humility here. If I could fly an F4, nobody could tell me ****.
Serious question concerning the Tesla. You bought a 4+ year old car. How long does the batteries in a Tesla last? I assume they degrade a certain percentage per year until they essentially become unserviceable. How much will it cost to replace the batteries and how much to dispose of the old batteries?
An article I read included a graph showing a basically linear decline to about 90% of original capacity after 200,000 miles. I think I read somewhere else that the Tesla warranty is 120,000 miles (pro-rated, I’m sure). Finally, in another article, I seem to remember that it estimated replacement cost to be in the neighborhood of about $4,000-$5,000. I don’t know about disposal issues - I suppose that would be on Tesla but my understanding is that a lot of the material is recyclable.
Don’t hold me to any of that - I’ve been researching Teslas for a long time.
26,000 miles on my Model S and no degradation at all so far.
32000 miles on my Model 3 and just over 3 years old. I am down about 10 miles to 295 mile range. Not unhappy about that at all.
The shortages in chips for cars is not about outsourcing. It's about poor planning from the automakers. In Q2 of 2020 the auto manufacturers cancelled all of their orders with chip suppliers thinking they wouldn't sell any cars.
The chip manufacturers were happy to shift that production over to electronics that are higher margin. Now autos are in the back of the line. That would have happened if the fabs were here or anywhere.
Toyota has destroyed everyone else this year because after the tsunami in 2011, they started a plan to keep several months of critical components in inventory (like chips.) In Q2, Toyota topped all other manufacturers in US new vehicle sales. It was the first time since 1998 GM wasn't number 1.
If the auto manufacturers had planned better, it would still be tight, but hundreds of thousands of vehicles would not be sitting around near factories waiting for chips.
It's the same problem lumber faced, everyone likes to blame lumber mills for high prices and shortages, when in reality, 2020 lumber production in North America was 1% higher than 2019. It was the poor planning by lumberyards, dealers, and distributors that caused the lunacy we saw earlier this year.
