To them, that is bizarre.I guess the SL finds being polite and courteous bizarre. I saw nothing outlandish w that pressure.
Mr. Potato Head is at a loss for words? That's a victory in itself.
I watched the first few minutes, I see nothing wrong. Typical media. So he's asking them to identify themselves, so what. It's not like he's been the HC and has interacted with them to know everyone.
Forget about sports press conferences, I've seen plenty of times the head PR person ask reporters to identify themselves and their organization before asking a question to the main interviewee, big deal.
Well if he reall did then he shouldn't be a coach ever again for leaving him inHe said he had the authority to pull the hook on Laviano. ********.
Yeah sure wasn't bizarre. That was a great press conference considering its his first time doing it. Only in Politi's deranged mind could that by considered bizarre.
Wonder what it would be like if he ran the show? Seems like a guy who you can laugh with, but will take you to the woodshed if you step out of line.
Imagine him, fridge and 'Gary' running the show? Not sure if we would win, but it would be something to see! We would also need 3 ambulances on standby - one each for Norries and Fridge and the 3rd for the EMTs to ride in.
Where is the 100 like button? Good job.I think the "What's your name, what's your sign" bit is refreshing. It's a throw back to an era where people treat people with respect. You stand up, identify yourself and your employer and ask your question. So long as he answers with respect (which he most certainly did) I have no problem with him demanding a respectful exchange.
As I said, I find it refreshing.
ETA: He also set a tone of him controlling the room. He's not gonna sit there and get bamboozled by a blood lusting press.
RU should've won last year--I know, I know, shoulda, woulda, coulda...Still the coach shouldn't so quickly discount where we are at this point in battling ttfp, forget about the pre-B1G years. He needed a better answer there. Otherwise, again, I have no problems with his press conference. In fact he stepped-up and admitted the coaching staff blew it on the 75 yrd untouched TD run by Lynch to cap the 1st half and really seal the game. We're not PSU's rival. Let's get real.
Ignore that stuff. It's so far down our priority list, it's not even funny.
Rivalries are not one sided--either in results or in the minds of the stakeholders of each program. We all have PSU people i our lives. None of them consider RU to be a PSU football rival. NONE.
Stop caring about what they think--a coach needs to make a statement that is for the good of his program. We don't want a coach here that doesn't consider Ped a rival now.Why should he lie?
Again, rivalries aren't one sided. Even if we discount pre B10 games, the people that surround the PSU program don't view us as a rival. It can't be a rivalry just cause we say so.
Stop caring about what they think--a coach needs to make a statement that is for the good of his program. We don't want a coach here that doesn't consider Ped a rival now.
Interesting opinion, I still think he could've answered that question more effectively.Actually its the opposite. They had just beaten us, badly, so I prefer our coach not acknowledging it as a rivalry. He said we need to be better, which is 100% correct. Saying its a rivalry right there just concedes that not only were we beat badly, but that this game also mattered more to us.
