It means nothing. We are going to land him.
I preface this by saying I like Matt and I listen to KSR because it’s entertaining. But Matt’s sources have eroded since Peevy left. Case in point, he predicted Stokes to UK the day he picked Kansas….then comes out the next week and says Polachek (sp?) had a source telling him Stokes had signed the Adidas paperwork with Kansas and “no one at UK would call Jacob back.” Knowing his own employee had this information, why would Matt predict UK? Because he’s smart and he knows ratings rise when UK is in a recruiting battle and they rise even higher when we believe UK has a puncher’s chance.
Matt says over and over his job is to entertain. And he’s right. He can pretend like he’s “hearing recruiting things” but I don’t put any stock into his recruiting predictions or comments. Matt is a divisive name on this board and I know I’m probably in the minority…I both like him but can also acknowledge he is FOS half the time.
Jones never predicted Stokes to UK. Simply isn't true. He said over and over again that he had no idea except that the staff thought they still had a chance to get him.
He also said, when he made that prediction, that he still had no idea and was only making it to be positive.
I think he's misremembering the story somewhat but I remember the part about Polacheck trying to reach someone at UK. That definitely happened or was at least reported
That happened when Jacob had one source, but not a second corroborating, so he didn’t report it. He did, however, try to tell Pope’s staff. They didn’t return his call.

I don't disagree with anything you said but I do want to remind everybody that it's okay to have been wrong about Stokes because...Stokes was lying to people.
He did predict it the day of the announcement. They went around the horn and everyone picked KU except for Matt. He did say he didn’t have any inside information. Which was a lie. His own employee was trying to call the coaching staff with the scoop he had. Which of course came out after Stokes made his decision.
i think he knew....but didnt want to say kansas. it was better engagement to KSR sites and prevents the pitchforks from coming out for a bit.
Polacheck is not Jones’ employee. Polacheck works for on3, who owns the KSR website because Jones sold it.
Correct but Tyler Thompson also knew. I find it hard to believe they didn’t tell Matt. If he doesn’t know what’s going on within his own network, how am I supposed to buy that he has legit sources?
Matt is very upfront that he literally doesn’t have recruiting sources these days. He has big picture/administration/booster sources
Louisville had a zoom meeting with Milan this morning. They felt better coming out of the meeting than they’ve felt, but they’re not confident they have what it takes to land him. He also commented Arizona doesn’t have the money to get this done.
