Mintz gotta be coming back.
If this had anything to do with Mintz or another player, that announcement would of come first and then Hickman decommit. The hard truth is, this happened because Barbee left pure and simple. and if upgrading the assistant spot means losing Hickman, so be it... Hickman wasnt going to do much as a freshman anyways.

I kind of miss the days when kids were excited about committing to and coming to play for Kentucky, you know, the greatest basketball program of all time, and not just scurrying to suck *** from some D-rate assistant coach like Justus or Barbee.
It would be nice if we had a head coach that preached UK basketball as much as the "next level" ....... maybe they'd appreciate the culture we built for 100 years instead of constantly having 1 foot out the door.

Hickman was recruiting Miller to UK so i doubt the announcement of Miller is going to scare away Hickman. He came here knowing Askew and possibly Mintz was still going to play. Someone like Wheeler, Carr or Ty Ty scared him away...

Next man up. If he doesn’t want to be here, so be it. UK was continuing to look for a point guard so maybe that and Coach Barbee leaving was the last straw. It really doesn’t matter at this point. No doubt the pressure is on to find a legit point guard to lead the team next year.

That is one thing the one time transfer rule will do is you won’t have multiple great players on the same roster. They can just transfer to a school that needs that position

If it's because Cal is getting Carr or Wheeler, that just tells me that Hickman never planned on being here long term and if that's the case, this is fine by me. We don't need anymore guys that have 1 foot out the door.

If it's because Barbee was moved out, well, that's a pretty stupid hill to die on IMO. I don't even think Barbee's own kids would turn their noses up at a UK scholarship to follow their dad to Central Michigan.

If it is because he found out Cal is signing Washington, well, again that means he never planned on staying here beyone 1 season AND it means he didn’t want competition.

Either way, this is an odd decision.

It’s a wonder the hate that some have for John Calipari hasn’t gave them ulcers or caused their hair to fall out. Good grief. We all want the same thing and that’s for UK to do well no matter who the coach is.
Unfortunately there are a few on this board that seem to hate Cal more than they care for UK. The Hickman news makes them giddy.

I would have loved to have had him come to UK. He will be a good player. But he wasn’t the full time answer next year at point guard. Even if he was still coming to UK, the point guard position still needed an immediate difference maker.
