I can certainly be wrong, but I think Noah has a unique opportunity to become a legendary hero among BBN for staying the course, living his dream and playing for the name on the front of the jersey. Of course, he could go elsewhere in search of more playing time, but he may decide to stay the course, earn whatever minutes he can, make whatever contributions he can, get his degree and be somewhat set for life ... assuming he wants to live in the State. I could easily see him doing exceptionally well in the insurance market here in Kentucky, especially in the Mountains. Yes, with everyone leaving, his staying will be seen as an honorable commitment to the State and the Program. What do you think ???

Yes! His 0.5 points/.7 rebounds/.3 assists in 8mpg while shooting 30% from the field and 24% from 3 will be legendary!
Come on man. Others on here will believe you when you throw out numbers like that...3.0 pts, 2.3 rb, (you're close on assists) 10 mpg 36%, 33%, 83% FT. If only he kept up his early season pace on 3 pt %...................... Legendary? No, but a decent player off the end of the bench.

Obviously I’m being facetious, but he’s not even a decent contributor in the limited minutes that he gets. Stats aside it’s like playing 4 on 5 when he’s out there. He was so scared to even shoot, he can’t break a man down off the dribble, and he can’t defend. If he wanted to stay cheap and sit the bench as the 10th type guy on the team sure. I would think he would actually want to play some minutes somewhere though and that won’t be here. Not when we need a lot of help.

He is looking at options at smaller schools and will weigh them against what his role would be at UK.

If he’s as good of a shooter as everyone says he is then Pope has got to get him run and let him rip.

May not be a defender, who cares? That’s what team is for. The defenders defend. Shooters shoot.

Pope went all defensive nut this year and well we saw what that amounted to. Team did better first year running and gunning games in the 80s-90s.

He does rebound well and has a nose for the ball, as they say. Just needs confidence in his shot and the ability to drive when given the opportunity.
I agree 100%. He can play much better than he has shown. The confidence thing is one of the keys for him. I hope UK can instill confidence in him on the court! Apparently he lights it up in practice.

You are simply wrong. Noah is not that bad defensively. He actually gets a lot of deflections, and gets some "hard" rebounds. You are right that he can't break anyone down off the dribble.
But you are also ignoring the fact that players improve from year to year. You may be too young to remember Will Perdue at Vandy. His first 2 years no one knew who he was and he had Noah-like stats. Then he exploded as a JR. Now Noah isn't 7'0, and he's not going to "explode" next year, but he could/might improve. While I hope we don't need him in the 8-9man rotation, but if he earned it through his play (something like 10-12mpg, 5-7ppg, 2-3rpg, 38-40% 3pt, I wouldn't be too shocked). Although I expect the roster to be built in a way (& finally no/limited injuries) that he doesn't play more than 2-4mpg. And then for his SR year, I wouldn't rule out him being in the 8-9 man contributor rotation. One problem this past year is that we had so few shooters who teams respected from 3, that if Chandler or Noah was in the game teams knew to guard them for 3's. Chandler needs to develop Reeves last season floater. I'm not sure Noah has the skills to add that, so he just needs to be better at being ready to shoot when he touches it.

Biggest issue with Noah is he plays shy once the ball touches his hands. He is advertised as a shooter, but it is like his brain tells him not to shoot. If he would catch and shoot or take a quick step and dribble drive, he could be a fan favorite. Seems more of a mental block/confidence issue than an ability to shoot issue. Tools are there, just needs to get some swagger and use them. Game just needs to slow down for him.

Defensively, he kind of is what he is.

Am rooting for the kid though.
I think the confidence comes next season. He had flashes of being great shooter this season. He's progressing.

I hope so! Great young man who seems to bleed blue.

Imagine him in an Alabama type system. He could motor up, shoot his shots, rebound, drive, and not have to play too much defense. Hopefully the Pope offense gets back on track and allows him to do more of those types of things when on the court.

Oh really? All? Set for life? Dumbest statement I've ever heard
I think I have you mixed up with another poster. I THINK. If so, my apologies. Either way, you’re dead wrong. Kid will be set in the state of Kentucky IF he sticks it out and graduates here. Simple as that. I question anyone’s Kentucky “fandom” that thinks differently.

That's in no way true. Plenty of players have "stuck it out" and graduated and aren't "set" for life.

Then why couldn’t they guard?

Yep, he could become a State Farm Agent and rip people off like they do, GREAT CAREER!
Insurance companies are the devil incarnate. They'll happily take your premium for years then deny coverage when you need it. Yeah Trent will have totally "made it" if he slings insurance for a living after ball.

I like Noah ... People criticized JJ for always taking the first available shot and rightly so .. Same folks criticizing Noah for not shooting as soon as he gets it .. Noah was in a tough situation getting short minutes off the bench .. Wants to run the offense because if he comes in and jerks up a shot immediately thereafter he'll soon be back on the bench unless it goes in .. at the same time, if he didn't shoot it but did try to run offense he discovered that Aberdeen and OO were never going to pass it back to him a second time

His defense wasn't great but wasn't bad either. Against UT his minutes were spent guarding Ament and he held his own. Can board and the ball finds him because he's a hustler

IMO he can be a very valuable player off the bench and I'm glad he's staying. Again I like him.

Hope he stays. Felt bad for him this season. Shot well and rebounded well early. He spent a lot of time with that 2nd team who ran the black hole offense. Miserable place to be for a guy who was a spread the floor, catch and shoot guy. They couldn’t beat their man and when they did, they were never kicking to a corner. After the foot and quad injuries his time got limited and his shooting went down with the pressure of very limited mins. Pretty sure he was still hurt the last month or two of the season. If he did come in, he immediately wrapped that quad when he got to the bench. I think he fits that 8/9 spot well and would like to see him stick it out.
