A little defense,,toughness,rebounding..should i go on?The one thing I don't understand, what does Poy give over Willis?

Cal indicated that Aillis was hurt Did not practice yesterdayScream now Cal
Nobody said he was. When did Willis become Anthony Davis?
You sure? Many act as if Willis is some basketball God. Willis has shown little toughness this season unless you count going up against mid-majors. He would have made no difference.Nobody said he was.
He does however provide better toughness and rebounding than most of the guys Cal hitched his wagon to today.
I'm also surprised we didn't see Humphries.

I think that's uncalled for .LOL if Poythress was white...people would notice he can't guard anybody...Willis is a better perimeter defender.
The one thing I don't understand, what does Poy give over Willis?
A better question would be, what does Skal give us over Willis or Humphries? What's your coaching record?

Wow. Take off those shades. Poy may not win defensive player of the year. But as dick v. Once said that would be Arnold Schwarzenegger vs pee wee HermanI think that's uncalled for .
Please know knee surgery comments....he was the same exact way long before it.
Sorry I mean "no knee"This. I must say, I tend to laugh at the way some of our fans re-process the same worn out apologetic excuses for players over and over and over.... Even when they really no longer apply.
For Poy, the knee-jerk spin-doctor apologist excuse has become "well, he had knee surgery..." Of course, they neglect to mention that he had that surgery more than a year ago, which should be more than enough time for any player to rehab and recover, and that the problems he's having this year are the exact same problems he had BEFORE the knee injury.

Agreed. Skal is giving us NOTHING on either end of the court, NOTHING. If he was at least grabbing some rebounds, blocking a few shots and protecting the rim, you could easily understand why Cal would leave him in, but he doesn't even do those things.A better question would be, what does Skal give us over Willis or Humphries?
Yeah, 'em thar ACLs heal in a couple a days. Only 'em wussy boys take a year. You oughter go set at thar Poy boy strait. Right up in at thar wussy boys face. Stick at chin out and tell'em. (Somebody call 911)
Please. Do some research before making such stupid posts.
I don't need to do research, *******. I had my own ACL redone--and back when it was a FAR scarier and more arduous process than today--and am still carrying the hardware a couple decades later. I'm quite certain I know that issue better than you and most others here. For me at least, about the first three months of rehab were hell, the next three it got considerably and progressively easier, and after six months I was back to doing everything as well or better than before. .
Poy's had more than a year of recovery and rehab time now. Obviously lingering effects may still be affecting him, but I seriously doubt it serves as nearly as much of an excuse for his poor play as the apologists here repeatedly claim, especially since he seems to have more lift on his jumps/dunks than ever before, and the problems he's having are the same ones he had BEFORE the injury.
Yeah but the way this team needs offense, I don't think it's unreasonable for some fans to want a player that is supposed to be able to shoot get some playing time . Besides that , he may have family members , people from his hometown, people that went to high school with him , and possibly friends he has now that want to see him play . Maybe they are biased because they know him . I just don't think race is a consideration.Wow. Take off those shades. Poy may not win defensive player of the year. But as dick v. I did not say anything about race. YOU DID and uh, rolaidYeah but the way this team needs offense, I don't think it's unreasonable for some fans to want a player that is supposed to be able to shoot get some playing time . Yep, same here. I blew mine out in 1979, tore everything, it was pretty bad. Had major knee surgery because, as you said, back then those types of surgeries were much more intrusive.I don't need to do research. I had my own ACL rebuilt--and back when it was a FAR scarier, more intrusive and arduous process than today--and am still carrying the hardware decades later. I'm quite confident I know that issue better than you. For me, at least, the first three months were hell, the next three it got progressively far easier, and after six months I was honestly back to doing everything as well or better than ever before.

Some lingering effects may still be affecting him, but I seriously doubt it serves as nearly as much of an excuse for his poor play as the apologists here want to believe, especially since he seems to have every bit as much or more lift on his jumps/dunks than ever before, and the problems he's having are the same ones he had BEFORE the injury.
Rolaid brought up race and I said I thought it was uncalled for . Then you quoted my post so it seemed that you were telling me to take off my shades . Seemed that you were defending Rolaids race comment. Maybe I misunderstood.I did not say anything about race. YOU DID and uh, rolaid
LOL! Right . . .
And where did you play your division one ball?
Easy fellows, just grab your rolaids, beer mug or knob creek. it will be ok. I know I tend to go off the deep end right after a lose only to come back to earth some time after. Some sooner than others.Rolaid brought up race and I said I thought it was uncalled for . Then you quoted my post so it seemed that you were telling me to take off my shades . Seemed that you were defending Rolaids race comment. Maybe I misunderstood.
I never made any claim that I played D1 ball. Instead, I was just responding to you falsely suggesting I knew nothing about what the ACL surgery entails, when the truth is something quite different. But, fwiw, I did play high school ball and then went to UK which is where I blew out my ACL in 88, back when the reconstruction procedure was far bloodier, more intrusive and more rehab-intensive than today. And my recollection from that is that even back in those far gorier days most were back to full strength after about 6 months or so. Which again, is why I tend to roll my eyes when I see people trying to excuse Alex's every singe mistake on his surgery more than a year ago.
He's averaging 9 and 7 (on very few FGAs). Today he had 6 and 7 (again, on just 4 FGAs). Alex isn't a problem. Today or overall. He's not Terrence Jones, but 9 and 7 is good production from a guy who isn't even considered one of the top five players on this team. You think Willis can play the 4 and give us 9/7?POY needs to take a dump or get off the pot, it's getting old never ever knowing what ur gonna get from him. Please no knee surgery comments....he was the same exact way long before it.
