...to make a first impression. "Toning it down"? "Say something nice about the opposition"? The only definitive thing I can say about northwestern is that I know nothing about them unless.... unless I allow the measure of the fans that I have been exposed to on here reflect on the institution however unfair that may be. I'm not going to sling mud. You have dirtied yourselves enough. This is your board I saw no welcome mat though you knew you would have visitors. I saw an unleashed pit bull in lieu of a no trespassing sign. Some nare-the-well admitting that he was provoking guests to your board for some sort of sport on his part. There are leash laws because not everyone has the good sense of decorum. You may want to resituate the layers of the onion but I have seen what your outer mask hides within behind your pretensions. You are beneath me.
Oh no! No second chances for us? How ever will we manage to live through another day? I am going to sink into great depression as I and my fellow Cat fans are beneath you.
By the way, genius, if you are going to come on here and try to be as erudite (I'll pause while you look that one up) as possible, your posts damn well better be correct. To wit:
"Ne'er do well" is correct, not "nare-the-well." Ne'er is a contraction for "never." Besides, the phrase would only be hyphenated if it were (subjunctive there, I'll pause again while you look that up) used as a compound adjective, which is not the case in your statement.
One cannot have "the good sense of decorum." As there are multiple types of decorum, the word would require an indefinite rather than a definite article.
"Northwestern" needs to be capitalized (just like "Tennessee"). If you claim that this was a sign of disrespect from you, you need to go back to the writer's aphorism (yep, I'm pausing again) that one must prove he knows how to do something correctly before doing it incorrectly becomes a point of style.
"You may wish to resituate...behind your pretensions"? Oh no, that sentence isn't pretentious at all. The word "resituate" means to put in another place, not to put back. As an additional note, that image you are attempting is so tortured, I expect Amnesty International to descend on the board. That sentence shouldn't make it out of freshman composition.
Finally, you state that you won't sling mud, then you do so.
You, sir, are convinced of your brilliance. You might think you are a brilliant troll or a brilliant person; you are, in fact, zero for two.
