No SEC teams in playoff?

A playoff without the SEC champion would be a complete sham of a playoff. Gotta beat the best to be the best.
Strongly disagree. 3 teams took care of business. 4th seed won the head to head against the 5th seed. Emotion shouldn't factor in. The SEC can whine all year and then prove it next year.

I don’t disagree. in the NFL, Jets beat the Eagles and the Broncos bested the Chiefs. Nobody believes they are better teams but the NFL has a better playoff system. The system is the system. Milroe isn’t the same guy now that he was in his 2nd start. Would like to see him against UT now.
And I would have loved for NU to get a do-over against Minnesota with HH or Purdy at qb. That isn't how life works.

You know who also isn't the same guy now he was back then? Quinn Ewers. That game in Tuscaloosa should matter. Sadly I think we're going to get screwed so bama can get in.

Sorry for your loss, dumb@ss.
You’re such an sec homer.. so odd.

Sorry both Georgia and Alabama couldn’t get in to really get ya excited tonight .

I feel bad for Florida state. They got screwed .. has any team benefited more from 4 - team playoff than bama? Not even close

I don't think Texas should have gotten in. They lost the RRR to a 10-2 team, and though they beat Bama, Bama beat the #1 two time champion in Atlanta. Got stronger. If FSU got weak, they still earned the spot. Texas backed in. Hate 'em, the wrecker of conferences.

No, a head to head win has to count for more than SOS.

Why use a whole season’s worth of results to say Texas is better than OU, but use a single game’s result to say Texas is better than Bama?
The difference is, Texas had 1 loss and Oklahoma had 2. Even though Oklahoma beat Texas head to head, Texas had fewer losses overall.

I don't understand how you base this seasons playoffs off of last seasons playoffs. Texas beat Bama on the road and beat last years runner up. I guess they should be the #1 seed.

That didn’t answer the question. It appears you are saying one should compare the results for a whole season of games, but you make an exception when teams finish with the same number of losses. Why the inconsistency?

Boy, I wish there were still ties. People would have looked differently of Texas at 11-1-1.

Head to head tiebreaker are used to determine conference championships. Why should it be different for the playoffs?

Two teams from different conferences having similar records does not make them tied (see Liberty/Washington).

Why should a national championship not account for all of the games a team in the nation plays?

Texas played:
  • One 1-loss top 10 team
  • One 2-loss top 15 team
  • Two 4-loss top 25 teams (sort of)
Bama played:
  • Two 1-loss top 10 teams
  • One 2-loss top 15 team
  • One 3-loss top 15 team
  • One 4-loss top 25 team
I know which schedule was tougher to play and finish with only 1 loss.

It would have been better to screw Texas over rather than FSU. However, the committee wasn't going to keep out the team that handed Alabama its one and only loss, not to mention the fact that Texas will be in the SEC next year. More SEC homerism by the committee.
