I’ve seen this board try and talk down the SEC for well over a decade and it blows up in their face every year. The definition of insanity and jealousy.

SEC is out, hilarious and awesome. Excluding Florida St or Texas would be a sham. Seminoles defense is legit

Georgia had underwhelming schedule. Tell me when Alabama beat them how that’s an impressive win? They are only number 1 because of the last 2 years on their resume.

You misunderstand. I want them defeated and embarrassed. Choke on that SEC chant. But it would be cool to actually BEAT the SEC in the playoff and then talk ****. I’m just not dumb enough to act like they wouldn’t win it again if in.

What would oddsmakers have for a result of Ohio st versus Georgia or Alabama? Ohio St I believe just a good of shot winning the whole thing as Alabama and Georgia.

Alabama is out because they LOST to Texas .. how is this hard to comprehend?

Luckily, the expanded playoff will correct this simpleton argument. Amazing how flawed college football has been for 100 years….and supported.

Alabama and Texas should be in over Florida St. They are basically Iowa right now...🤣
fsu just held a 2 loss team that averaged 460 yards and 33 points a game to 188 yards and 6 points with a 3rd string freshmen qb playing on their offense. They can make it a game with anyone.
Would kick Louisville's ***.....
Like when New Mexico St kicked Auburn's *** the week before Gump beat them by 3 on a miracle?

Texas, your 2023 Big 12 and SEC champions

Actually it was awesome. You want to be a national champ.. you better go undefeated

Bama got beat up on at home. They are out.. sorry this brings tears to your eyes .. very odd behavior

Why play the games if you’re going to just randomly put in the 4 “best” teams? Can you imagine the NFL if they didn’t pay attention to record, but instead chose their playoff contenders off of who they feel were the best teams?

Alabama lost to the only good team on their schedule, the Texas longhorns.

You don't want the regular season to matter
I get it, and as I said in an earlier post, the system is set up to leave either UGA or Bama out. The UT W against Bama essentially assured that.. I’m just saying a playoff without the SEC champ rings hollow considering their incredible domination over the last 20 years. We can finally move beyond this with the expanded playoff.

1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. FSU 4. Texas? My guess is the SEC will broker at least Alabama and try to get Georgia in.
I think FSU will be the 4 seed because of the loss of Travis but those are the 4.

Expanded playoff or Bama can beat Texas next year and Georgia can beat Bama. Either works for me.

Sometimes, the best teams don’t make it because they didn’t take care of business. It happens. But it isn’t the SEC’s birthright to be in the playoffs. 3 undefeated teams and a 4th with a victory over the SEC champ means SEC, vaunted though they are, didn’t do enough.

Unless the committee says they did.

I don’t see Michigan and or FSU going undefeated on Bama’s SEC schedule. Different level of competition, week in, week out.
To hear you talk about the SEC, it’s pretty amazing the 4 teams aren’t Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Missouri.

I don’t disagree. in the NFL, Jets beat the Eagles and the Broncos bested the Chiefs. Nobody believes they are better teams but the NFL has a better playoff system. The system is the system. Milroe isn’t the same guy now that he was in his 2nd start. Would like to see him against UT now.

I hate arguing for the SEC, but their domination is undisputed and I just want to see the best beat the best in the playoff. Any playoff without beating the SEC just seems hollow. To me at least. But the internet isn’t about balanced thought, it’s about us vs them.

Don’t forget this argument some are making that a 13-0 FSU team should be left out of the playoffs because of losing their star QB to injury. Imagine the NFL saying, “Sorry KC, we know you went 13-4 and won your division by 2 games, but since you lost Patrick Mahomes to season ending injury 2 weeks before the end of the regular season we have to leave you out of the playoffs”.

In the NFL, head to head matters. So does record. The team with the better record gets home field. That suggests to me that if there were less spots, the team with the worse record is left out....

If we are talking strictly about Bama’s regular season schedule, every ranked team they faced this year was at home. They didn’t face a top 10 team. They essentially had an extra bye week leading up to needing a miracle to sneak by unranked Auburn, on November 18 vs Chattanooga. They avoided Missouri and UGA during the regular season. Hell, Ohio State has a better SOS than Alabama.

They're looking for any angle they can grab. They can't go after Texas, because they kicked their conference champions ***.
