Yep the big gaping hole in the fabric...surprised we haven't been exposed more than we have with virtually nothing down low...

Missing on Bamba sealed our fate...
Yep. Very weak in the middle this year. Richards just doesn't have it yet.

Jones should be playing more and Richards playing less (or none at all is fine with me too). Jones deserves time and hasn't got it. If I was him I'd be out the door.

This is kind of bothersome, SKJ is in the end of his second year and he started out well and seems to have regressed or is in the dog house for something. We should be getting a lot more from both him and Richards. Look at Gafford from Arkansas, he has outplayed both of our guys and was lower rated. I'm not sure why ours aren't progressing more, it's frustrating.

I think if SKJ would play better he'd get more clock. Someone look at his stats and tell me why he deserves more time.

SKJ needs to play more period. I love SKJ energy, heart and offensive skills but Cal has took a lot of his confidence away. Something is definitely going on.
Same here. Other players get to play through mistakes, see Diallo, but SKJ doesn't. He seems to make plays when he's in there. He makes shots, gets rebounds and goes after blocks, but then he makes one mistake and he's gone.

Regarding SKJ - he still looks completely lost on defense to me. Just my observation.
Both SKJ and Richards I think but SKJ gives us more rebounding and offense. Richards can't catch any balls and only scores at the line.

Richards is much better defensively than SKJ who is never in position to help protect the rim when UK players get beat off the dribble. I would bet that the opposing player that Richards guards scores by far the least number of points on the floor when he is out there. Richards spends a good part of his time confronting straight line drives from defensive lapses by Knox/Green/Diallo/Gabriel.

I haven't seen Richards protecting anything in a long time. He's too slow to help and when the ball is passed, too slow to recover. The SEC has dunked on him basically all year. When you couple that with the inability to catch rebounds and lobs, he's become a liability that needs developing. Like SKJ as well.

I would say SKJ has got his feelers out on where to transfer. If he can't get on the floor now he never will imo. Sad.

When I said protecting the rim, I was referring to contesting shots. There isn't a true shot blocker on this team. I'm not sure who has dunked on him that you are referring to, but his dunk at the end of WV game clinched that game. Part of the defensive issues for the UK bigs is on Cal as he doesn't teach the guards to fight through pick n rolls and that allows SKJ/Richards/Gabriel out on the perimeter trying to keep up with the opposing point guard. You saw Gabriel get exposed against the Ole Miss point guard as he got dunked on last Wednesday night. We don't have AD or WCS out there on the floor who would allow you to switch.
