Vandy looked good again. What is that 9 wins in their last 10 games. Fighting for a tourney berth. Playing in their hometown.

4 guards in double figures. Wright with 15 & 15. Lawrence really playing with confidence. Manjon reminds me Ulis. Wright added 11.

Got to stay in front of these guys. Come to play.

I mean, sure, they aren't as bad as their record suggest, but they just beat literally the worst team in the conference who was playing their 2nd game in 24 hrs in what is essentially a home game in Nashville. I wouldn't take much from that.

I'm expecting a very close game. Vandy has pieces, they've been very playing well, and they really need to win this game to make the tournament.

On the other hand, our guys should be out for blood after the loss on Senior Day.

I agree; feed Oscar early to free up Wallace and Reeves late. And I would like to see some of that Arkansas game toughness and defense. Maybe a little more of that zone to help keep the ball in front of the defenders.

I’m not feeling all that good about the Vandy game to be honest. I’m hoping our Cats come out P.O.’d and impose their will early. But it’s gonna be tough.

Vanderbilt is pretty hot right now. This one is probably going to come down to the final possession.

Can't play the same defense Cal played against Arkansas, Vandy can hit threes, but I do think a zone would work well, just gotta get to their shooters and rebound.

They need to pack it in on defensive. Just like at Arkansas. They spread the team out thats when trouble begins. It's our defensive breakdowns that have caused stress for me.

We have to stop their guards from driving and throwing up circus shots, because they will hit some double clutch laying on their back shots. We shot really bad at home when they beat us and we still just lost by two. It's never easy against them, especially in Nashville, but it is what it is. We have better players and a better team and we owe them big time.

I expect us to win(so you know a letdown might be coming!) but the worst part is Vandy is not climbing analytically. They keep winning all these games and still aren’t even that close to being a top 75 team in the NET. We won’t get any credit for winning tonight if we do.

Need to rebound well and make free throws. In other words, the Cats need to be focused and put forth total effort at all times. This begins a new season and this game will reveal how invested in winning these coaches and players are.

Every game from here on out is going to be tough. I’d be interested to know if Cal thinks they can improve their seeding by winning a couple or if he thinks it doesn’t matter as he has stated in the past. I think that factor will be critical to how much effort they expend on this game and the next.

I mean, we beat Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi State… oh yeah, and UK.

UK may blow us out but you haven’t been paying attention to the SEC if this is really your take.
At this point in time, today, Vanderbilt is an easier team to beat than Miss St, Arkansas, or Tennessee.

The NET doesn’t reward winning, a major flaw in the metric. Hopefully the selection committee looks at the fact we’ve won 9 of 10 including these wins:

UTjr
@Florida with Castleton
Auburn
Florida again who is 63 in NET
@UK
Miss St

And we’ve also beat Arky and Pitt

For 2/3 of the season, we’ve played like a top 20 team and that’s the 2/3 entering post season play.

Hope the computer nerds hired some humans to make these selections.
