I know you can say it’s the competition he’s playing but his play this year so far has been very, very good. I hope I’m not speaking too soon but he seems like he might have finally turned the corner. He’s exceeded my expectations so far.

I hope he keeps playing this great. Been awhile since we’ve had a legit center play as good as he has. I’m proud of Nick. He’s a great kid and deserves this.

Junior Nick Richards is definitely much improved and playing very well. Early in the season he is providing a big lift for these young Wildcats.

He is giving everything they need of him. He is way more active and sure of himself than he has been in the past. Lots of confidence. Great to see.

We go through this every year though right. I remember last year he had like a monster double double early against one of the horrible teams we played. Then we play a team ranked in the top 150 and the guy can’t remember who he’s guarding. But with that being said if we can get even half of what he’s giving us now consistently we’ll be scary, I just have many doubts.

His confidence is growing and his shots are falling. Looks good at the free throw line and is a better defensive player this year. His effort and improvement should make him a crowd favorite.

3 of Nick's 4 highest scoring games have been this season. He had 3 double digit rebound games before this year, and 2 already this year.

He’s fouling less and playing more! Man does he have a beautiful stroke if he could add a consistent 3 pt shot the sky is the limit! The difference this year is he’s having good games back to back to back! And yay for EJ finally hitting a 3 and a jumper!

Nick is catching balls he never has been able to. He’s definitely progressed bigtime and will be a problem for any opponent

It’s going to be boom or bust for Richards. It was good to see him man handle a small team tonight and look very confident. Hope I’m wrong but I think there will be a tournament game where he disappears, just have to hope we have enough to cover up for it. Still happy with what I’ve seen though, Richards has clearly improved.

Very happy to see Nick start to find his game.. He's much improved and will be a huge for Ky. He could very well be the key to a deep run..

But who have they been against? Until it’s against actual competition I don’t care if he scores 100

Meh. Develop that **** in the league. For now, dunk everything within 5 feet or baby hook. A 12 foot jumper from time to time to keep the D honest but if he ever shoots it from 3 point range, I'll be pissed. Stay inside and dominate. We got plenty of shoot first guards, not enough 7 foot centers.

Hes trying to build confidence, and get consistent while learning the game at the same time.

Could be alot of pressure for anyone not confident in their abilities.

I'm impressed with how he has come along no matter who the opponent is. He has strung together some good games. Doing things now that he has never been able or comfortable doing.

That will go along way towards being able to play at a higher level vs. Better opponents.

I really don't know how Nick will do in SEC play, but he will be among my favorite just because he stayed and tried to improve. Still, like the player who toughs it out until they are ready for the pros. Just hope EJ sees this and stays until he can be drafted 1st round.

One reason I'm not panicking over the early loss and occasional offensive struggles has been the play of Nick. He's arguably the one guy we had to have step up to be a serious national contender. He's doing that.

The only thing that frustrates me is those point blank shots where he seems to just push the ball at the basket vs. using his fingertips for touch. He just gator arms them. But on his free throws and jump shots he flicks his wrists and has great touch.

I agree, but am not getting too excited till he faces a team with guys as big and athletic as he is. But I agree, Nick has made huge strides so far, and he has to be really good for us to go anywhere this year.
