Even when on defense he is playing much smarter. Not leaving his feet as much as he did last year on fakes.

He has a size XXXL sack to taunt the crowd along the way.
Nick has always seemed timid and unsure of himself and his ability. For him to tell the crowd to bring it every time he's going to the line or after he makes a big play just shows that growth. He knows what he can do now and he expects it of himself. He invited that chip on his shoulder too, I loved him calling for all the boos, one of my favorite moments from the game.

Our hardest playing and most effective player right now. The scary part is idk if he's done getting better. He has room to grow!

After PJ last year and the emergence of Big Nick, losing Whitney stings way less. If a guy isn’t willing to be patient and put in the work to get better then he doesn’t belong here period. I was hard on Nick in the past, but I have nothing but praise for him after the season he’s had.

I'm not going to compare him to AD, but he has to be one of the most important players on the team. We don't win if he wasn't on the floor tonight. His play from the start of this season has been exceptional.
Numbers don't lie, he's been as effective as AD at his best. AD did it as a freshman and Nick almost certainly won't be AD in the NBA but he's carrying the team like AD did.

I was about to make the same thread. That kid is awesome. Absolutely loved him looking up to the student section and talking **** after fouls. Unbelievable confidence and playing the ball to back it.

I am SO happy for the kid. As a freshman he looked downright lost on the court at times, had hands of stone, was a big disappointment. With Travis Reid and EJ Montgomery coming, + PJ returning, it seemed inevitable he would tuck tail and bounce, but he came back.... and seemingly made no improvements. Good for the occasional rebound or lob, but largely the same useless 7 footer... but he returned again, put in the work, and is now one of the best players in the conference. He is a shining example of the benefits of experience (and of course hard work).

His confidence is sky high. We need to get him the ball more. I'd love to trade the 6-7 drives our guards take into traffic for post ups for Nick.
