He WAS not a good player, now he is. They were right.I remember many on this board saying he was not a good player.
The fact that Nick is putting up these type of numbers (25/14/4) and practically zero offensive sets go through him on the post is unbelievable. Quickley/Maxey don't look into the post whatsoever...Cal has to get Nick more shots as he is shooting 67% from the floor for the year. The 3 guards were 11 - 33 from the field.
He's having a great year so far. Very proud of all the hard work Nick put in. He deserves very high praise on this board. A lot of you wrote him off.
I don't think posting him up on the block is his game. He is not a pj or Reid. You will not get much feeding him like that. He plays well in pick and roll along with some weak side lobs. Runs the floor and has a good mid range jumper with pick and pop.
He is playing exactly how he should.
Also, run pick and roll at the top of the key and let him run to the rim - UK didn't run that either. The offensive sets the last 10 minutes in the 2nd half was all 1 on 1 by our guards who shot 11-33 from field.
Nick is like....

May be playing his way into 1st Round.
He’s an absolute monster
Between Nick Richards this year and PJ Washington last, boy oh boy do we have a couple case studies to prove that leaving as soon as possible isn’t always the best idea.
Nick is much better offensively than WCS ever was, and I loved Willie (except his no-show against Wisconsin).
Unfortunately, far too many in their shoes don’t have the patience, work ethic, or support system (family and “associates”) to allow them to follow PJ, WCS, and Nick’s example.Between Nick Richards this year and PJ Washington last, boy oh boy do we have a couple case studies to prove that leaving as soon as possible isn’t always the best idea.

Nick is pretty close and Noel wasn’t a slouch either. Nick is much better than either on the offensive end.WCS was probably one of the best defenders to come through Lexington. Unreal how he could change a game. The best is AD of course.
