Well he is our best 3 point shooter
But he's not the best play maker on the perimeter. You don't design a play for a seven footer to handle the ball at half court and make a pass unless you have Kevin Durant on your team.

If the plays to get him a shot you can still hand the ball off and do a dump pass to a trailing sar for the final shot. Sar is not a playmaker and that's too unfair to the kid to ask that of him in such a situation.

Can't believe some here are defending that play call and blaming Sarr. With no one guarding the inbounder, that left 5 Arkansas players to guard 4 Kentucky players while Sarr's man can play back because they know he's not going to dribble up and shoot a three.

With Arkansas playing back, why didn't Cal have the option of Sarr setting a screen near midcourt to free up one of the wing players to come back and get the ball?

Just another example of piss-poor coaching!

Not gonna lie. Having your centre catch the ball at half court with four seconds left. Not the best of options.
Especially when he’s probably the one that should be taking the shot . It was bizarre . Kinda like when tubby drew up that play for sheray to take the game winner cause “we didn’t think they’d expect it”. Well yeah , wonder why , lol.

It sounds cliche but I mean... John Calipari is not a good coach when it comes to sets, plays, schemes and adjusting. He’s just not. He relies on his stars. He point blank said it himself in his call in show. He tells his guys “go make a play”. So it’s not that surprising to me that he drew up or shouted some random and stupid play to pass the ball to Sarr.

Excellent call for you idiots who don't know anything about basketball. The defender of the Sarr does not come up to defend. You throw the ball to Sarr at half court. One of the other pkayers will wrap around to get the ball. Sarr threw a horrible pass. Excellent play, horrible execution.
Sure thing chief ,lol .

ARK was not even guarding the back court. Basically zoning. Pathetic call. Any guard could have caught and dribbled to the rim in that amount of time left.
I believe that this is 100 percent correct. Coach Musselman had the perfect defensive alignment for what I believe he anticipated that Calipari was planning to do. He could have easily called a timeout and put 7'3" Conner Vanover on the baseline to guard the inbounds play, but he decided to set a defensive zone around the 2/3 court 1/2 court area.

Devonte Davis, probably our quickest player, was staged almost under Kentucky's basket playing "free safety" not to block a shot, but to try to read a pass and pick it off.

Very nice, just brilliant design
And remember that play call Stoops made when we threw an interception?

ridiculous.

And remember the play calling for Chiefs I’m the super bowl? What kind of coach calls for his OLine to let the QB get pressured?

fire him too!!!
