Looks like I was correct in the call. Again, excellent call, horrible execution

I can appreciate that you are willing to die on the vine, but it was a terrible call. You don’t give the ball to a guy who’s a horrible decision maker to decide what to do. As a coach you have to draw up counters and assume some things will be covered. The play ultimately ended being covered up and Sarr had no clue what to do next. That’s why it’s horrible. You don’t put him in that position.

Excellent call to get the ball at half court. Too bad Sarr screwed it up.

Sarr caught the ball at THEIR 3pt arch. Then dribbled to mid court....then passed for the TO. AK catches ball and dribbled all the way to their own foul line as the clock expired. We had all day if they just inbounded to a guard. Idiotic play call.

The problem is Cal didn't have a play ready for the end of game situation and had to call his last timeout before the second free throw. Just watch Cal drawing up a play on the clip board! Wouldn't you think you would have a play ready from practice and just call out a specific play to run? With 4.3 seconds, you save your last time out and get the ball to half court before calling your last time out. You will then have a couple of seconds to get a shot off from the sideline. Said it a million times, Cal doesn't coach situational basketball and is the most unprepared coach out there.

That last play was not on Cal. Just re watched last play. Boston broke open going towards the basket and Toppin just didn't throw him the ball. I'm not sure Toppin has a good feel for the game to put it mildly.

Cal already admitted the play was for Sarr to get the ball.

Toppin did what he was told.

Excellent call for you idiots who don't know anything about basketball. The defender of the Sarr does not come up to defend. You throw the ball to Sarr at half court. One of the other pkayers will wrap around to get the ball. Sarr threw a horrible pass. Excellent play, horrible execution.
It’s just a brilliant draw up, Next time maybe Cal can share it with the rest of the guys. Play only works against man pressure, Arky laid off and rendered it useless

He drove the lane and took a bad shot instead of kicking out to an open man at least twice. He just seems to either be not b

If you throw the ball to a guard with a competent handle heading north south he easily gets off a decent shot as the other team can’t risk a foul

But failing to box out and get a rebound was the true difference in game

ARK was not even guarding the back court. Basically zoning. Pathetic call. Any guard could have caught and dribbled to the rim in that amount of time left.

Stop don’t be stupid. Jacob was the inbounder and he said the play call was to go to Brandon going downhill with Sarr as the backup. Said he didn’t think BJ was open

Toppin spoke to media after the game ? Others are reporting Cal said the play was supposed to go to SARR ,. not Boston ? But Jacob said he was supposed to get it to Boston ? There is no way possible you couldn't see how wide freaking open Boston was . I've said it a 1000 times , Toppin and Ware have no business being in the game

Sorry, but any play that puts the ball in the hands of a 7 footer 50 feet from the basket with 4 seconds left is a God awful play. Not a good passer or dribbler. Flat out terrible call.
Cal needs a coaching seminar.

Excellent call. Sarr catches the ball amd hands it off to one of the others and the offense has 4.3 seconds beginning at hald court. That is the third game Sarr screwed it up with either missed shots at the end or a horrible pass.

Who in the hell was he supposed to hand the ball off too you clown. Sarr had to come back for the ball and caught it at the 5 second stripe going away from the basket with no one within 20 feet of him. With 2 seconds to go yes you have to throw as close to mid court as you can. With 4.5 there was plenty of time to get the ball into a guards hand on on the move toward our side and drive and pop or find someone open. You keep calling people out but you obviously don’t know ****.

You absolutely take the timeout after the 2nd free throw. Inbound the ball and call timeout near half court with about 2.5 remaining. This allows you to inbound the ball at halfcourt and makes getting a shot much more manageable and higher percentage.

Wow shocked that Cal admitted that was the play - he is last guy I want on the team handling the ball except ready to shoot
Why put your center in that position to dribble and make a pass
That’s bizarre

Then why does Cal say that the play was designed for Sarr to get to a guard? More post game nonsense that the stories just don't line up It was a terrible end of game ...again.

I'm still waiting for someone to ask Cal why Allen (one of our shooters), was not put in the game?

Yeah, Cal is NBA ready.

Still waiting...

If sarr catches it there fine. But the guards have to be in front of him to make hard back cuts to our basket so he can hit them on the run. Not on our side of the court looking at him like please don’t pass me the ball. All around **** up

If your going to design the play. You have your guard run as close to the center as possible to basically receive a handoff/rub screen. Guard gets the ball moving towards the basket for a shot.... This would be a good play call.

You don't have your center catch the ball with no one around him, take a dribble and try to make a pass...
