Rutgers will play Southern Cal as part of a doubleheader which will not be on of the themed MSG events.
Thank you for the update.Rutgers will play Southern Cal as part of a doubleheader which will not be on of the themed MSG events.
I wonder if he prefers warm and sunny locales...Currently, USC coached by Johns Hopkins grad Andy Enfield of FGCU Dunk City notoriety, at one time rumored to be a candidate for the Maryland opening. Did Maryland hire someone?
That’s a pretty cool game too. Wonder what the other one will be? Another B1G - PAC 12 match up?Always great to have a game at MSG!
Hopefully a B1G game in which we are the road team. That’s a pretty cool game too. Wonder what the other one will be? Another B1G - PAC 12 match up?
It’s not a matter of getting invited, it’s a matter of wanting to do it.As much as I like playing in Madison Square Garden, I would much rather play in the Bahamas, Hawaii, Bermuda, Las Vegas or any of the big holiday tournaments to make it a nice trip.
We rarely get picked for any of them and it really pisses me off. I remember going to Texas El Paso, St. Louis and NC State for exempt tourneys and they were at least fun to go to even if the locations were not ideal. I couldn't go the one time we were invited to a minor Las Vegas tourney.
Best of Luck,

I meant as part of the Rutgers - USC double header. But, yes, I’ll take the Michigan arrangement from 2020!Hopefully a B1G game in which we are the road team.

In those days I was at every Rutgers game at the Garden. Loved the train rides and the games.Rutgers played USC in the Garden once before, in December 1974 when USC was ranked #6.
I was there. Rutgers lost that game, but ended up making the NCAA for the first time that season with a dramatic OT win over St Johns - back at the Garden.
Still a great venue to watch Rutgers Basketball.
It was understandable when we were bad, not it's more that our coach isn't a big advocate of a tough OOC schedule. As much as I like playing in Madison Square Garden, I would much rather play in the Bahamas, Hawaii, Bermuda, Las Vegas or any of the big holiday tournaments to make it a nice trip.

Didn’t they spend over a billion refurbishing a few years ago?Isn’t it about time to build a New MSG ?
Based on conversations with him, I’d be shocked if he left SC.Currently, USC coached by Johns Hopkins grad Andy Enfield of FGCU Dunk City notoriety, at one time rumored to be a candidate for the Maryland opening. Did Maryland hire someone?
Ridiculous renovation recently (including the corridors being widened which was desperately needed); finished maybe 5-years ago?Isn’t it about time to build a New MSG ?
You don’t think MSG could get a new MSG facility before Rutgers finishes anything at all? Relax NUTS having some fun here.Ridiculous renovation recently (including the corridors being widened which was desperately needed); finished maybe 5-years ago?
I think you took my comments wrong. Completely "relaxed" was just giving out some 411 Bob. All good buddy! You don’t think MSG could get a new MSG facility before Rutgers finishes anything at all? Relax NUTS having some fun here.
Always great to have a game at MSG!

I’d rather play at the RAC
Dude, you're the best! Don't ever change!I’d rather play at the RAC
I keep thinking back to the wrestling/hoops day in 2020- what a great day! The result sucked, but you always see how insane our fanbase can be when we have a big event at MSG.RU should schedule one premier game at the garden each year.... yes, it seems like a sacrifice not being at the RAC, but it showcases our program so well
IF we play a decent team we get a huge and loud RU turnout, that has to be impressive to any casual observer, or any college basketball fan
with the USC game, we might not have been able to schedule them if the game was not at the garden, they might not have been interested in a home and home....
we play at MSG, we make a lot of noise in the city that day....the bars are filled with RU fans, and a lot of excitement
Big time is beating #1 at home and storming the court and being lead story on SportsCenter.I enjoy taking the train to NYC to watch RU play at MSG. It is big time. GO RU.
Both are true.Big time is beating #1 at home and storming the court and being lead story on SportsCenter.
