I believe the list of potential coaches who could do better than Cal at the moment is a helluva lot longer than people think. And a fairly large portion of that list are coaches that aren't currently on my radar.

Not sure why that matters-the guy leading the way isn’t meeting expectations for the job. Shouldn’t matter who we want or who we can get, Cal isn’t the guy.
Cal will be hard to replace.....................when it comes to shoveling out bull ****, with that being said, the coach at Texas Tech, Ala, a Mark Few assistant, Kenny Payne, Michigan coach or any of about a dozen other coaches
I’ll start by saying that, IMHO, Cal should get at least one more year to see if he can right the ship. I believe he can.
Having said that I’d like to see the next HC be a younger guy that could be around for a while. I firmly believe that Travis Steele would be a great hire.

I like Chris Holtmann... like the KY connection. Think he would rise to it and appreciate/value it.
