This can’t be a mess up. We need to transition right back to where we were in cals early years. I think Nate Oates is the guy to pick it right back up. I’d be fine with mussleman but I think Oates is the guy
Oates is not the guy, you make Scott drew say no. Then you to musselman or tommy Lloyd at ArizonaThis can’t be a mess up. We need to transition right back to where we were in cals early years. Drew would be my #1 callOates is not the guy, you make Scott drew say no. Then you to musselman or tommy Lloyd at Arizona
Mine to, make him say no, then I would go tommy Lloyd or musselmanDrew would be my #1 call
He’s president of the Celtics and had the opportunity to coach again a couple times …Indiana and returning for another run on the Celtics bench …but he’d be a good oneBrad Stevens would be the first call…
Nate Oats has never been past a SW16. What is supposed to be exciting about that? He teams chuck a bunch of 3's and hope they are on that night. No thanks! This can’t be a mess up. Scott Drew has been past the sw16 3 times in 20 years. Only once since 2012. Hell no!!!!Drew would be my #1 call
Poster King of Cali said this last month regarding Arkansas and Coach Musselman
"You're watching Arkansas and think they're running plays lol? It's a bunch of guys going 1 on 1 off the dribble, which is what everyone says they hate about Calipari."
Agree with him 100%. The same could also be said about Alabama and Coach Oats. Both teams shoot a ton of 3's and there is little player or ball movement.
Another similarity to Coach COW is the roster turnover for both Bama and Arkansas. Getting 5 stars, aka 1 and done talent, so they have few returnees from year to year.
Oats and Musselman are Cal clones except with passion for the game and their teams!
None of this correct at all. I’m guessing you just watch the ball.Poster King of Cali said this last month regarding Arkansas and Coach Musselman

Pitino??? You gotta be kidding.Call Mussleman, Lloyd, Drew, Pitino, Oats, Donovan, Stevens
I posted the exact same thing after they played San Diego State out in Maui. It’s borderline comical that we have people on this board complaining that Calipari doesn’t run plays and then saying they want Musselman.Poster King of Cali said this last month regarding Arkansas and Coach Musselman

Stevens isn’t coaching anymore bc he always wanted to be in the executive office and he hates recruiting. Wright retired bc the cane has changed, Donovan hated recruiting so he especially would now.You have to make Stevens, Jay Wright, and Donovan (yes, again) turn you down. You have to. They are the 3 best. Doesn’t matter if all 3 are a pipe dream. Throw everything and the kitchen sink at them.
After that it’s Drew, Lloyd, Oates in that order.
But see, that's the issue. The pipe dream part. What do I know, but I highly doubt Stevens, Wright, and Donovan are even options. Could easily see Drew turning us down because he's already won a title at Baylor and has a good thing going there. Lloyd is a west coast guy and always has been. Could easily see him being at Zona for another ten years before taking over for Few at Gonzaga. Could even see Musselman staying at Arky. Yeah, you make them tell you "no", but I think given the landscape of coaches UK might hear their fair share of no's. Oats would make the jump, I think. Vogel's an interesting one, but has only ever coached in the NBA, I believe. Think you'd be looking at Oats or Chris Holtmann from OSU as your two front-runners that would actually say "yes"... and I don't know if I'm real excited about that. Not saying that we should stick with Cal because of that... just saying finding the RIGHT replacement may not be that easy. You have to make Stevens, Jay Wright, and Donovan (yes, again) turn you down. You have to. They are the 3 best. Doesn’t matter if all 3 are a pipe dream. Throw everything and the kitchen sink at them.

Give me either Nate Oats, Scott Drew, Brad Stevens or Billy Donovan. I would love Eric Mussleman if it wasn't for a DUI that he got. Fantastic coach but if a coach has a drinking problem, the UK head coaching position is the last job in the world that he needs.Call Mussleman, Lloyd, Drew, Pitino, Oats, Donovan, Stevens
Agree that they space the court, but they mostly give it to one guy and the rest line up around the 3 point arc. Player with the ball tries to get to the rim, if not, throws out to one of his teammates for a 3 point attempt.Right, but their 1-on-1 play is effective, because they actually space the court and give guys room to operate.
Besides Donovan, good list. Donovan is not going back to college ball. Plus he's well over 50 I believe.Billy Donovan, Frank Vogel, Scott Drew, Eric Musselman
If I were the AD I’d call him but like you said he would most likely say no. I like Scott Drew, I think he would do excellent here. Idk why people on here are trying to trash a guy that built a program like he did. I think those people don’t even know how bad Baylor was when he took that job.Besides Donovan, good list. Donovan is not going back to college ball. Plus he's well over 50 I believe.
Live in Georgia so don't get the opportunity to go to Arkansas practices as you apparently do. And I have coached for years at lower levels so I am certainly not just watching the ball.None of this correct at all. I’m guessing you just watch the ball.
The style Cal runs is outdated now. The style the other guys run is the style of play basketball has evolved to. Watch an Arkansas practice. They aren’t allowed to shoot unless the ball is to a certain part of the floor- it’s all based on %. In fact they change the point value to different parts of the floor for practice.
The best job he could land was Iona after he paid hookers for recruits and abortions for his side pieces. Why do you think he is a reasonable candidate for UK? Have some standards. Why?
Wrote an extensive post on Coach Vogel in this forum a few months ago and agree with you. He should at least get a phone call when we have a coaching vacancy - Soon I hope!
