As my retired friend from the Air Force and later Space Forced posted, never wish a “Happy” Memorial Day as it is a solemn day to remember those who gave all in defense of our country or later lost their struggles with PTSD, etc. Today is a day of extreme gratitude for me.
He’s only 41. I think the GOP would be wise to run Rubio in 2028, but it’s early.

Btw, I voted for Paxton. If Cornyn wins, I will vote for him against the Dem. I am not a fake Republican that throws a temper-tantrum when my specific candidate loses. I am smart enough to know even Rinos are better than handing power to any dem loon. I learned early on to leave emotions out of what I consider to be business decisions.

She asked that if anyone would be able to visit his Grave at his specific site !

Btw, Rs are absolutely screwed on Talarico among Hispanics. Pretty sure it's an Italian name, but Hispanic voters swung by far the hardest against Rs from 2024 to 2025 (in VA and NJ, with cost-related conditions actually worse today than they were in November 2025), Talarico wildly overperformed expectations in the Dem primary in South Texas/Hispanic areas, and the name is "good enough" from an identity standpoint.
Which means Rs are going to need to avoid significant suburban bleeding, especially among women. Early returns are that Paxton is going to run a "MAGA Warrior versus P*SSY" campaign, which is a fascinating strategic choice. Ken Paxton ... a brilliant candidate for stupid voters in GOP primaries.

Separately, I stopped considering myself a Republican in late 2023, and nothing that has happened since is drawing me back. The Democratic Party being a complete nuclear waste zone is saving a GOP that wants to make the dumb decision at every turn, but right now there's no real hope for 2026 and 2028 is going to require a turnaround.
Ironically, I'm with Trump on most of his controversial geopolitical stuff, including an even more aggressive line against Cuba. But I seem to fall in the minority on everything these days.

I have stated Paxton was not my preferred candidate, but I am done with the Rinos in the primaries. I will vote them against a Dem other than Fetterman(so all the elections I am involved with).
The Dem nuclear waste zone is their policy. I will consistently stand strong against that even when the R is weak. The Dems in DC are great at uniting against bills I like. Would I have preferred Hunt? Yes, but now I have to vote for someone that has not been in DC for over 20 years like Cornyn.
I would suspect if we knew the truth on all politicians, most have participated in some form of criminal activity. I will not pretend my moral compass from a distance matters one bit. I will vote policy that matters every single time when it is R vs D.
