FMLA does not require paid leave. Companies are making the choice to offer paid leave.

True for FMLA. Several Democrats run states have mandatory PFML. Companies and their employees HAVE to contribute.

One of the many reasons businesses are fleeing blue states for red.

Many in the insurance world believe this will end up being true for federal programs in the future. A lot of fraud in these programs, too.

"For 2026, a Colorado employer with 100 employees will pay approximately $81,180 annually for CO FAMLI premiums, assuming an average employee salary of $100,000."

Sharing this just to give you an example of what this looks like. I have clients that are paying hundreds of thousands of $ each year. No choice involved, other than do we stay or do we go. It also incentivizes small companies to stay small.

I love that you guys are worried about the environmental impact of me playing golf a handful of times per year, while also thinking millions of people have little to no impact on water in the Southwest. That these massive data centers are good for the country. You’re right, you’re going to have to re-educate me on this stuff because there is some weird math out there that I am unaware of.

You guys are worried about a minnow while the sharks are circling.
How many millions of gallons keep your Course green grass/water hazards full ?

Minnows ?
Like you were worried about one gang attacking one apartment door.
It's cummulative.

You tell me. You guys have been telling me we aren’t short on fresh water and that humans have little impact. Now everyone should stop golfing?

Pretty sure I was spot on with what was going on with TdA. Called that stuff out very early on. Was not one apartment door. Wasn’t close to that.

Not far from your nephew, BW. Near record high today. That “unprecedented” snowstorm from last week is a distant memory.

He can use the water from the water hazard that is part of the Course in his back yard OR the water from his inground swimming pool.

99.999999999999999999999999999% chance of not happening, and I’m likely being too optimistic with that number. MAGA is a huge movement that has been festering for bare minimum 25 years. Trump is a vehicle for MAGA. It’s time to find the next.
So you're saying, just like me, there's a chance !

Tons of fraud. I know of an employee (that was in a protected class) that kept going in and out of FMLA for two years until the company finally paid them a package to go away.

My neighbor was an FBI agent. Now he’s a CO PFML fraud investigator. It’s rampant.

No, you are a very poor student, failing really. You have been told repeatedly that water wars have been fought for millennia such is the value of water.

Only YOU should stop golfing since you continually ***** about the scarcity of water and the persistent drought conditions. More importantly, you should get the hell out of Colorado to a water rich place. But your love for Governor Polis is greater than your love for abundant water.

You sure were right about Venezuelan gangs taking over large parts of major cities including Colorado. You were even right EARLY. Then, in November 2024 you voted to do absolutely nothing about it by writing in RDS!

El Nino 2026-27 will hopefully make your shoes go squish, squish, squish.

The vax raged deranged lunatics are not only against saving lives in DC they are also against beautifying DC quickly, cost effectively just in time for 250.

And she is scared of the "South American" fans. Looking at the Dallas slate, that would be "Argentina", period. Of course, she may think Japan, Holland, Croatia, England, Austria, Jordan, and Sweden are all South American countries, too.
Those soccer fans are going to love Texas Live. Awesome atmosphere with a great layout.

RE: Beef prices. Drought is the primary driver of the smaller herd but what drought?

1) Beef raised for consumption is primarily in the great plains states down to Texas. In round numbers, 15-20% comes from the Colorado river basin and about the same from East of the Mississippi. The rest is from Oklahoma, Texas, etc.
2) Beef raised for consumption depends heavily on pasture land for grazing. When the cattle mature to close to market levels, they usually ship them to feed lots where they are fattened up on corn/etc.
3) The drought causing the big price increases is in Oklahoma and Texas affecting their pasture land, but it also affects grazing land in the Colorado River basin -- cattle need grass.

So when we gripe about beef prices, first pray for rain on the great plains. (and then for Colorado ranchers , as long as they don't convert their ranches to golf courses.;))

ps. in the 1930's the Great Plains experienced a significant drought nicknamed the dust bowl. It lasted about 8 years and really only ended once the rains returned. Weather goes to extremes, even without global warming.
