Nor will you hear anyone who understands water management say that the Northeast is struggling from lack of water, even potable water.

Our camp up in the Adirondacks was built on a spring fed lake, the camp in the 1920's.
One of under 30 camps on a 6 mile by 2 mile lake with no rise or fall of water levels.

Today OVER 100 years later the lakes water can be drank without filters, although our camps drinking water goes thru a one stage filter for any beaver issues, just in case.

It's too repetitive for knowledgeable persons to try to educate you.

That's fantastic. Once again, different parts of the country face different issues. I'm not concerned about the lack of accessible water in NY.

In related news, no one gets stabbed or pushed on to train tracks in my suburb. Somehow, I understand there are concerns about that happening in NYC. Imagine me telling New Yorkers that people shouldn't be concerned about that because it doesn't happen in suburbs in other parts of the country.

I just looked this up, the Adirondacks average 40-60" of precipitation each year. Phoenix averages 7". Great to hear about your lakes, though!

Approximately 123,000 to 130,000 permanent residents live year-round within the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park, spread across 101 towns and villages.

The estimated population of Phoenix, Arizona, in 2026 is approximately 1.7 million (1,703,449)

LOL

Partial term like FDR would be fine with me.

To be specific, President Trump could run for election in the next Presidential election as the VP with someone else on the ticket as President.

His running mate as Pres then could be elected as # 48. Sworn in as President he could then resign, be impeached or die and the VP would become Pres # 49, Pres Trump.

Convoluted, but possible.

Stories popping up like this all over the country. Pretty sure there is a similar story in Tucson.

People celebrating these data center builds are going to have regret in a few years.

I am aware of where, how large and the estimate of permanent people inside the Park.
The closest town to camp of over 500 residents is 8 miles away.

It's a great place to vacation, summer, fall or winter. Black fly season can be problematic with black fly's, you want screened porches. ( some places in the USA, call it spring !), until temps kill them off. (around 85 F +.)

But…they still have the same employment law with the H1B. Illinois is still going require PLAWA for example. WC is higher in IL than surrounding states. The individual state governments in blue states, Obamacare, etc, are bigger causes of cost. It’s just an excuse to not to keep US employees. Half of these H1B’s from India are coming over because an Indian exec at an American corporation lays off US workers just to bring in more Indians. They are gaming the H1B. H1B needs to not be a thing. Also Democrats do not learn. Our economy is kicking European butt. We do not have all the employment regulations that the Euros have that keep their productivity down. Unfortunately, Democrats think working the fry station at McDonalds is worth the same as someone roofing a house.
Ya, I should have been more clear. US employment law applies to all here. TMO just did massive layoffs and their new CEO subcontracted a bunch of work to Egypt. They even needed to send US trainers there to bring them up to speed. The cost of the US employee is out of hand when you add all the craziness of FMLA and time off to become grandparents, etc.

Is that your golf course on the right ?

I love that you guys are worried about the environmental impact of me playing golf a handful of times per year, while also thinking millions of people have little to no impact on water in the Southwest. That these massive data centers are good for the country. You’re right, you’re going to have to re-educate me on this stuff because there is some weird math out there that I am unaware of.

You guys are worried about a minnow while the sharks are circling.

99.999999999999999999999999999% chance of not happening, and I’m likely being too optimistic with that number. MAGA is a huge movement that has been festering for bare minimum 25 years. Trump is a vehicle for MAGA. It’s time to find the next.

Yep. We need them, but they need to provide their own energy and also not impact our own environment negatively.

Time off to be grandparents is absolutely nuts. Of course you want to be there for your kids, but that shouldn’t be paid for by employers/taxpayers/consumers. Frankly there have to be other incentives to hire US. No outsourcing offshore…and H1B is completely being abused.

It’s very clear the Illinois Voting Rights Act of 2011 is in violation of the Constitution and the recent SCOTUS decision.

I did not know that. What position has she taken in terms of vaccines?

There’s plenty of her interviewing vaccine skeptics (not Covid ones) on her show and FB. I just am linking this one.

Legitimate questions about who should take a Covid vaccine don’t implicate longstanding childhood vaccines ala MMR.

None of this is really about vaccines, it’s more of the take that everyone in a position of trust is lying to you. Not sure why that’s now a thing on the far right, used to be the left.

I went to the Cubs/Rangers game in Dallas this weekend. We had a few drinks at Texas Live(an amazing venue) before the game Saturday. Our very friendly bartender made the comment of how scared she is for when the World Cup fans come in from South America to party. I asked if they were really that rowdy and she replied she was concerned about them spreading the hantavirus. I stated that I was under the impression this is generally a rodent problem not human to human. We will see.

It’s a rodent problem, people are crazy.

Some guy in a company I have done work for just got 3 months paid off for the birth of his child. I don’t know why women agree with this policy, but I find it to be insane. It just proves the company can function without him since he isn’t recovering from anything.
