Alaska is part of the USA, but irrelevant to the Squish!
What crops do we grow there? Big ranches?
This conversation started around the cattle shortage, and what is causing it. I’m not sure how Alaska is relevant.
Broccoli, cabbage, apples, many berries, carrots, beets, potatoes. Over 750 farms and 800,000 acres in Alaska.
Livestock includes cattle, bison, reindeer and yak.
Obviously fisheries, salmon, crab, halibut.
Alaska is one of lowest producers of beef in the country. Often dead last.
I will keep an eye on the yak meat market. Super important.
#1 US producer of Reindeer meat. Herds are herds. Growing or declining.
If we hear people complaining about reindeer meat costs, we will know we heard it here first!

Yes. Texas, Kansas, Iowa are big beef producers with Texas being #1.
