Not crazy about these at all. This is a case where our more recent unis are way cooler than the old ones.I can already hear the cries of protest from Nebraska.
I have become desensitized about uniforms ever since we abandoned the purple and white for black or some other funky color that UA requires a half dozen times a year.I can already hear the cries of protest from Nebraska.

"I read the headline but not the article."So you make that post about a throwback that’s extremely heavy on traditional purple and white?
I've asked before. What year(s) or era are the throwbacks from? They don't ring a bell and I've been attending NU games since the mid 50's.So you make that post about a throwback that’s extremely heavy on traditional purple and white?

Your best site for NU Uni's is hailtopurple.com:Must be a pre-'60s helmet because it isn't listed in the Helmet Project.

I think they just made up something that looks nostalgic, not an actual reproduction.Must be a pre-'60s helmet because it isn't listed in the Helmet Project.

I don’t think it’s intended to be a specific year, but rather a kind of amalgamation of throwback items for the 150 year anniversary.

Best reveal ever! 50 years?!?! God bless!
Terrible, just terrible. For every good thing NU does, it seems they do two things to counter that. There is such a profound lack of knowledge of good design in NU's Administration, it is unbelievable. It is amazing that Taj Fitz got built as it is, but that was not without significant prodding. Every now and then something good slips through. Hard to believe in a city where there is so much good design talent. Throwback is BS.I can already hear the cries of protest from Nebraska.
These “throwbacks” are an Under Armor production. Wisconsin will wear the exact same “throwback” (with red/white and UW) when the Badgers meet Northwestern meet September 28. From the UW Twitter (linked below) the uniform is an actual UW throwback of sorts.

NoAnddddd I think we’ve stumbled on a generational divide.
Players seem to approve, so that works for me.Terrible, just terrible. For every good thing NU does, it seems they do two things to counter that. No, not everyone over the age of 40 dislike the uniforms.Very yes.

Contrarian much?
Throwbacks and other uniform hi-jinx are primarily for the team and recruits. You can see the team’s reaction in the video. Recruits’ reaction will be similar.
Read much. I am agreeing with the comment that they are for the team and they seem to like them. You might of skipped over that part.
What I disagreed with was your perception of a generational divide. Pretty sure I am not in the same generation as you, but I can’t be sure as I have never had the pleasure to meet you. You have something similar to a Captain Daniel Gregg persona around here, so I could be wrong. I think we both might actually agree to like these despite our potential generational divide.

Nice, maybe there isn’t a generational divide after all.An Edward Mulhare reference? You’ve stumbled on the single pre-1990s actor of whom I’m mildly aware on account of my grandparents if that helps you dial things in at all.

Not sure if hi-jinx was meant to be ironic or is a coincidence, but, yes, there is a high degree of jinx when we wear special uniforms (as opposed to high jinks)Contrarian much?

Take yours out of the attic. That's disappointing. I would like to see this helmet again...
